My 4-year-old daughter LOVES rainbows (it was the theme of her birthday party last summer!) and if you ask what her favorite color is, she will respond RAINBOW! So when I saw this book popping up on social media feeds of some bloggers I follow, I immediately saved it as a fun book to get for my daughter! After finally ordering it a few months later, I was a little disappointed in how simple and predictable the storyline of this book is. I was expecting a little more meat to the story instead of just "what color should I be? Oh, I'll be all of them!" I understand the implied meaning of being inclusive and accepting differences, and also not limiting yourself to being just one thing but embracing your uniqueness, but that is all just something you have to explain to your child after reading the story and nothing that is taught directly through the text or dialogue. I was also surprised by the size of the book--it was a little smaller than I expected. I never saw the dimensions listed before ordering, so this is just based on what I thought the size might be. The illustrations are beautiful and playful, though, and my daughter is pleased with the book overall. Not one I will be rushing out to purchase as gifts for others though.

This book is a favorite in our house. The bright colors and fun illustration on every beautiful page tell a wonderful story about love and acceptance. I think this message is especially important for my young children to hear. . . to accept others and know that people are not just 1 dimensional. We need to get to know ALL their beautiful colors! Thanks for the beautiful story! Anna and Jon

Beautiful art. Simple message, but not much substance. I would say this book is for toddlers to help them learn colors and basic human traits. Certainly not worth what it costs. I was expecting much more!
