Briana Galen is perfectly content operating her bakery in her hometown of Cedar Hollow near the Great Smoky Mountains. She’s content, that is, until famous novelist Devin Morris moves back to town with his six-year-old daughter. Devin’s move back to the mountains from New York City was designed to comfort his daughter Kaitlin, whose mother gave up custody of her when she fled to Europe with her lover. The last thing Devin wants is to become involved with another self-centered female, and Briana Galen appears to be just that. But if she thinks he’ll let her cancel that cupcake decorating class just because she’s busy, she’s got another think coming.

At the same time, who could have guessed that his volunteering to supply Valentine-themed cupcake decorations for Bri’s class would leave him with his own heart pierced by Cupid’s arrow? Now he can only hope that Cupid has Bri in his sights too.

Interesting Romance

This was slightly more interesting than the average romance novella. The premise was not quite as predictable as some but the book was short enough it felt rather like we were rushing to the conclusion to get everything worked in. Not a waste of time for a quick and easy read but an epilogue of a where things stood farther down the road would have done a lot to make the story feel finished for me.

I really enjoyed reading this book, because it was warm and inviting even though it took place in a winter setting. The characters Bri and Devin were fantastic to follow and their story line was sweet. I did not like the ending, unless there will be a follow-up book, then I understand, completely the author's slight cliff-hanger.

By the end all I wanted was to taste a cake or even a cupcake since they were mentioned a trillion times. I felt that some drama could have really jazzed it up a bit especially where the exes were concerned, they disappeared as quickly as they appeared. There were a few hehehe moments and some oh how cute ones as well. I was glad to have downloaded it free and honestly feel it a bit pricy at the $2.99 asking price but you make up your own minds I would rather save my money for something that has a little more umph. My Cupcake, My Love is perfect read for a rainy afternoon with your favorite cup of tea and goodies. Ms Carey gives us a light-hearted romance while still addressing the more serious challenge of being a single parent. The Hero and heroine are both stubborn but ready for their romance! Once again Ms. Carey gives us a peek into small town life in Tennessee without pulling out cookie cutter characters(pardon the pun!)or "typical" situations, something she is known for doing with grace and style. Enjoy!

I loved the story right, at least right up to the very end. It was like the author just didn't know how she wanted to end it....so she left the ending off. WTH? But up until that point this story was great. It was a little different than most stories and it had great characters, too. If it wasn't for the ending, I would have gladly given this story a 5 star rating.

Would I recommend this book? Probably.

I loved this story set in a bakery and small town. A famous writer moves home with his daughter and meets the baker. They start off with him getting a bad impression, wrongly I might add. They go on to the twists and turns with kittens, cupcakes and a cave. Wow! I loved this. Read it in one day.

I liked this story of life in a small-town--it was a perfect read for a freezing cold day before Valentine's Day. I'm a sucker for cats and kittens, too. I thought the dialogue was a little formal, but I really enjoyed the story.
