Nico has a traumatic past which has led him to a life of drugs, alcohol and woman to escape. He knows that Jill deserves better but he can’t seem to stop the actions that are destroying his life.
After Jill left Nico has worked to changed his life and now Jill is returning with his daughter to help out his mother. Will he be able to convince Jill to give him another change and will he be able to stick to the changes he has made so that they can finally be a family?
I have only had a chance to read Nico from the box set so far but that story alone is worth the $0.99
Savannah Miller is a woman who experienced something no one should ever experience. She was kidnapped, beaten, starved, treated like an animal, and forced to live in a room without windows. She had lost hope after a long time in captivity. Little did she know that hope was about to pay her a visit. She was saved by a group of US Army soldiers. The question is, were they sent by her father, the mayor of New York?
Cole Logan is the head of the group of US Army soldiers that rescued Savannah. He’s the alpha male who risks his life often and without hesitation. Cole is the kind of man you want at your back or who you want to look for someone you love. He’s not just all about his mission, he’s human. He’s a fantastic balance. There’s so much more to him, but I can’t proceed and not spoil it! You need to find out more about Cole, yourselves!
Broken is a tale that I cannot remember reading anywhere else. It’s refreshing and unique. It brought out the feels! While I am very reactive to the books by my faves, I don’t feel everything when I read others. I can enjoy them, but I don’t get hooked. Broken had me from the first sentence. As I continued to read, I felt everything Savannah felt. I needed her to fight. I needed her to survive. I needed her to find her happiness. Savannah is a strong woman. Many would have ended their lives once they realized what was going on. Not Savannah. Her world was not just turned upside down. It was blown apart. After her rescue, she had to decide whether to stay in the safe house and follow the rules, or leave and risk capture again. Shouldn’t be a hard decision, right? But was it a decision between one type of captivity or another? I could answer, but I don’t want to ruin it. You need to find out for yourself.
The safe house where Savannah was brought was filled with such characters! I loved all of them! I do have three favorites: the one I call the “house mama”, the jokester, and the big brother. And the cat! LOL! There is one character that I would love to choke the heck out of. If you haven’t read Broken yet, you need to. You’ll see who I’m talking about.
There are a lot of tense moments, scary moments, and hilarious moments. This isn’t a book where you can just sit and read. It’s one that you’ll enjoy, even the hard moments. I’m a reader that likes to be on the emotional rollercoaster. I’m one that needs to feel in order to love it. Broken had me laughing, crying, and sighing. I cheered Savannah on. And she broke my heart. Beware, there is a huge cliffhanger. I am so glad that I downloaded books two and three before I started. I would have been pissed, though I have a love/hate relationship with cliffhangers. When I got to the end of this book, I audibly yelled, “What the f***, J.L.!!!!” (Yeah, I have no shame when it comes to my reactions. LOL) What I really loved about Broken is that it's not just about tragedy or action. There are fun and love moments. This had it all for me.
True love really does conquer all; from the first time Cole seen her picture, he felt a connection.
The actions Savi endured at the hands of the Cartel, even before that occurred - the people she trusted most weren't worthy, shockingly she finds this out - only to have more bad acts heaped on her. She is a strong girl, and deserves her HEA, this series is a must read.
I hope to read more of this boxed set. Definitely a must read.
