The book is GREAT.
HOWEVER... there is something really weird going on here.
I got the Watchmaker paperback version of the book. I am also listening to the Waxkeep edition of the book as an audiobook. And there are some disturbing differences in the two editions.
So far I’ve noticed a date, some parenthetical statements, and a lot of numbers. The strangest thing is the difference in the inclusion of god and the Bible.
The Watchmaker paperback seems to be the less accurate as it gets something as easily checkable as Tesla’s magnifying transmitter wrong, written magnifying transformer in the book, while the Waxkeep gets this right.
This is particularly apparent when Tesla comes to a revelation seeing the interaction between lightning and rain on a mountain. In that moment he comes up with his spectacular dreams of harnessing this power. In the Watchmaker paper back, this revelation is prefaced with a paragraph about bible studies. And similar revelations are prefaces with bible studies. There is zero mention, so far, of the Bible or god in the Waxkeep edition.
I’m not a religious person, but I am reading this book because I am curious about Tesla and his OWN ideas in his OWN words. I don’t know if someone is omitting words or putting words in his mouth, the latter seeming more likely due to the evidence, but it is disgusting and absolutely immoral.

About the Author
Nikola Tesla (1856 1943) was an inventor, mechanical engineer, and electrical engineer. He was an important contributor to the birth of commercial electricity, and is best known for his many revolutionary developments in the field of electromagnetism in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Tesla's patents and theoretical work formed the basis of modern alternating current (AC) electric power systems, including the polyphase system of electrical distribution and the AC motor. This work helped usher in the Second Industrial Revolution. Born an ethnic Serb in the village of Smiljan, in the Austrian Empire, Tesla was a subject of the Austrian Empire by birth and later became an American citizen. Because of his 1894 demonstration of wireless communication through radio and as the eventual victor in the "War of Currents", he was widely respected as one of the greatest electrical engineers who worked in America. He pioneered modern electrical engineering and many of his discoveries were of groundbreaking importance. In the United States during this time, Tesla's fame rivaled that of any other inventor or scientist in history or popular culture. Tesla demonstrated wireless energy transfer to power electronic devices as early as 1893, and aspired to intercontinental wireless transmission of industrial power in his unfinished Wardenclyffe Tower project. Because of his eccentric personality and his seemingly unbelievable and sometimes bizarre claims about possible scientific and technological developments, Tesla was ultimately ostracized and regarded as a mad scientist by many late in his life. Tesla never put much focus on his finances and died with little funds at the age of 86, alone in the two room hotel suite in which he lived, in New York City. The International System of Units unit measuring magnetic field B. In addition to his work on electromagnetism and electromechanical engineering, Tesla contributed in varying degrees to the establishment of robotics, remote control, radar, and computer science, and to the expansion of ballistics, nuclear physics, and theoretical physics.

It feels like it should be criminal to only recognize this man as much as we have. His glory and brilliance overshadows his subtle lack of confidence abd the fact the he was swindled out of money and recognition, several times. Still, he was so humble he had the opinion that his plight, being "misunderstood and unrewarded," was the natural condition of an inventor. In some cases, his being one of them, it may be so but that doesn't make it right. Industries were built off of the sweat of his brow! This man, if only he had read and, like a politician, so passionately and relegiously followed The Prince, by Machiavelli, I imagine he would have had been able to contending with the likes of Rockefeller and J. P. Morgan, needless to mention Edison lol He ruthlessly got stepped on and ridiculed because they were too afraid, jealous, or just plain stupid. Very few are aware of his spiritual nature, he touches on this a little but, if I could ask him some questions, if I could travel back in time lol I bet he would describe a whole host of spiritual experiences; the obvious one was his method of invention. There should, at the least, the very least, be a national holiday for this man who, at a young age, unlocked a secret that made him a genius; a genius who so loved the world that he gave his inventions; inventions that gave rise to an unprecedented wealth of endless scientific advancement.

Fascinating autobiography by Nikola Tesla that is more cerebral than emotive. He clearly tells the story of his life through his inventions. He describes his inventions in detail that you need to read carefully so as not to miss anything. He invented the wireless system that led to today's cell phones. He tells how he used his imagination first and than did the actual hands on experiments that led to his breakthroughs. His abilities lead to the theory that he was a creator god.

Tesla's autobiography may not be politically correct, but it is part of a
Liberal arts curriculum.
It is invaluable as psychohistory, to understand the mind of this great inventor.
It doesn't hurt that it is fluidly written.
I do not understand the technical aspects completely, since I have not studied
Math and physics beyond the high school level. Whatever university courses I
Have taken, I have ignored.
Tesla may have scoffed at the mystical dimensions, which I do not, since I have seen
Some. Due to his empiricism, for the most part he was a clear-thinking man.
A buy.

I was not particularly impressed by this. I was hoping to learn more about "Tesla, the man" and possibly to learn about how some of his inventions worked. In this, it failed. On the other hand, I cannot come out too strongly against it, because it was inexpensive and since it was also rather short, I learned a good bit about Tesla without too much reading.

I just love Tesla. I think that it's a real shame the way things went with him and Edison. Edison was a genius, but of the two I think Tesla deserves more than having an electric car named after him 60 years after he died. Granted, this electric car is a marvel of automotive ingenuity. Much like Nikola Tesla was a marvel of electrical ingenuity. I see him as one of the greatest inventors this planet has ever seen. Better than the Eli Whitney and the cotton gin? I'll leave that one up to you.
Remember, He invented alternating current from nothing. There wasn't a model for him to go by. He just wanted direct current (Edison's invention) to power an electric motor that he invented. Hence alternating current. BTW. That's what we predominantly use today. I'm not going to get into the transmission of electrical current. Basically, Tesla fixed the shortcomings of Edison's discovery.

There were some great sections such as his predictions. He predicted the internet, TV, wrist two way comunicators and many other things that we take for granted now. Of course he did not use the names that we have applied. The man was a genius, but too much of the book was spent telling of hie ailments and how tough his life was. It is unfathomable to me why he is not at least as famous as Thomas Edison if not more so.

Any words written by the man himself are worth reading . Good info on Tesla growing up , his near death experiences and much more . Would have liked a more exhaustive list of ALL of his inventions though as not all were mentioned . A 3.5 x Star book IMO , will err on the side of a 4 x star for review purposes.

The book I received is seemingly a pirated copy. There are many grammatical errors and I don't feel that the printing margins are standard. It seems like a duplicate. For this price, I expected better.

Too brief

I can't describe this as a book; it is a self-indulgent pamphlet. Padded out to its whopping c.50 pages with stories of things that happened to him as a child...eg a rich man came to town, he gave the children silver pieces, but not me, because he could see I was intelligent.
spoiler alert: he had periods of sickness as a child; and nearly died. Like the children who lived in those regions at those times.
Nowhere near enough about the amazing things that he actually did.
You'd learn more from watching the Dr Who episode he featured in.
