This is book 3....Why??? Book one hand some hope for a dark and interesting read. Book two even started okay, building a mystery that I hoped would unfold in book 3.
What happened??? The author apparently has gotten caught in the trap of multiple book series.
I couldn't even make it past 51%. I now realize how much the characters annoy me. I really tried to like this story, it's just not happening.
I got about NOTHING out of this book. There is added drama that is so drawn out and unneeded. It feels like the story is spinning it wheels and getting nowhere fast. I will not be finishing this book nor anymore in this series.
The interplay between the two lovers is well played, but I have to be frank: there were times when I wanted to give both of them a ‘Jethro’ and tell them to get their acts together (if you watch ‘NCIS’, you’ll know what a ‘Jethro’ is).
However, all this does lead to interesting scenarios.
All in all, if you enjoy heat, convoluted relationships, well described ‘baddies’, and interesting plots, this book may be just the ticket for your next reading foray. For full enjoyment, however, I suggest you seriously consider beginning the journey with book #1.
I was provided an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I received an arc for an hones review.
I just want to add this. I read between five and ten novels a week. I enjoy them but then move on and usually forgot them. That is one reason I don't like series that are too spread out. By the time volume 2 is released, I've lost interest in the story line. I can promise, this is NOT a story line I will forget. Now I'm waiting anxiously for volume four. I'm pretty sure you will be too.

When I began this series I wasn't thrilled with the darkness of the story line. I am so glad I have faith in Anna's writing.Read more
