It has a hard cover and the cover can be easily wiped clean if necessary. The pages have plenty of room to write on. It asks for the date and which child said what you want to document.

I used to keep a little box with notecards in it with all the funny things my kids would say, but it was so overwhelming this puts everything in one place. It has little bubbles that you writer in which hinders your ability to write the entire circumstance of the quote. You lose a lot of space on the page to these little bubbles. I wish they didn't have those because sometimes the circumstances surrounding why your child that said something makes it even funnier. I think because I had just now in the book form I will keep up with it more often than I did but I filed parts and filing box I wish they would've had something like this with my children were little bit smaller I would've used it right from the start. This would make a great baby shower gift even though the mother to be will not use it right away when she does start using that she will really cherish it. Perhaps purchasing it and writing an inscription in the front of the book about how many things are children will say that are funny as they grow up would certainly add value to this gift.

I love the idea of this book, and hope I really do make the time to use it. I am forever laughing at things my kids say, or feeling truly touched by something sweet and tender that they come out with, or proud to hear them say something great. I always think that I would never forget these sorts of things that they say, but only 7 years into motherhood, I am here to tell you that I am already forgetting some of the things that I remember thinking at the time I'd never forget! This book allows you to write the quote, date, person quoted, etc, all in a neat little space well designed. There are shorter spaces and spaces for longer quotes. I sincerely hope to make use of this over this coming year because my kids are growing up so fast and I don't want to forget all of these things I hear them say.

I would make one change. Most of the quote boxes are too big for the actual quote if your child says only 3-10 words. However it does leave space for explaining what lead up to them saying what they did.
