Series: Bewitched & Bewildered
Author: Alanea Alder
Designation: Book Four of Series, Full-Length, **Can Be Read As Standalone, No Cliffhanger #paranormalromance #fantasy #shifters #vampires #fae #witches #sprites #adultcontent
My Rating: Five Delightfully Entertaining Stars*****
**Each book of the Bewitched and Bewildered series features a different couple finding love along with their very own happy ending and can technically be read as a standalone. However, there are recurring characters and an underlying interconnected conflict that play a major part in all the books, therefore to avoid spoilers, I highly recommend reading the books sequentially.
I loved, loved, loved this story! Alder had me hooked in the prologue and My Savior may be my new favorite! OMG, Alder's books are like potato chips; you can't stop with just one! This is the fourth book of the series and each story gets better and better! I can hardly wait to dive into the fifth! lol... I love unique paranormal romance, addicted to danger, action, adventure & suspense, completely smitten with sexy, alpha heroes, adore sassy, courageous heroines, and there's nothing I enjoy more than a few mind-bending plot twists and an infusion of laugh-out-loud humor, but when I can get it all in one well-crafted and beautifully written book, I'm in absolute heaven! And that's exactly what Alanea Alder delivered - AGAIN - in My Savior, the fourth full-length paranormal romance in her captivating and highly imaginative Bewitched & Bewildered Series. Did I like this book? No, I LOVED it! Would I recommend it? You bet, and I am but only for adult readers since it does contain explicit language, some violence, and steamy, dreamy sex. Will I read this author again? Absolutely which is probably the best recommendation I can give! As a matter of fact, after completing the first book of this series, I raced back to Amazon and purchased the remaining nine books and signed up for her newsletter, which speaks volumes as to how much I enjoyed this author's work! And finally, was I entertained? Completely! I was glued to my chair, white-knuckling my ereader, my heart fluttering wildly in my chest as the pages flew as quickly as the pages!
I fell in love with poor troubled Darian. He was so strong and so determined to save the woman he loved, even at the risk of his own happiness and possibly his life. And the beautiful, bubbly, half-witch Amelia was so loving and selfless, refusing to abandon the man of her childhood dreams, the only man she would ever love! Sigh... so dreamy! And if you've been following this series, I can hardly wait for you to find out the identity of her new sister-cousin! Oh my, this story just ripped my heart out of my chest! I snickered, snorted, sniffled, snuffled, chuckled, and outright ugly cried through the entire story! But just a little warning, folks, don't start this book unless you have plenty of time; you will not want to stop until you reach the last page. I should know; I stayed up all night AGAIN because I couldn't stop reading! lol... Alanea Alder, you're killing me! If you enjoy perilous danger, intense drama, agonizing angst, pulse-pounding action, nail-biting suspense, side-splitting humor, heartwarming romance, and a few mind-blowing plot twists that you'll never see coming, then this book is screaming your name. Fabulous entertainment and an awesome read! Thanks for the recommendation Fran Zoch!
While I often reread books, there are a select group that have made it onto my virtual 'Old Friends' bookshelf. These are the ones I can't live without. You know the type, in the old days they were the ones that got packed in a bag at the beginning of tornado season so you could grab the bag on the way to the basement when the sirens went off. The Bewitched and Bewildered series has a very prominent place on my virtual 'Old Friends' bookshelf.
Definitely a worthy addition to a much beloved series!
Great addition! Lots of emotion- laughed out loud and had a little tear too! A very well planned series. The previous books have given a great base for Alenea to build the rest of the books on. The world building was nicely set up. There was never a huge lump of knowledge for the reader to digest in the beginning. So when LOTS of things came out in this story, I knew who was who already. This book: answered enough questions to make you happy that the plot is moving forward; left enough questions to keep me interested; and gave TONS of tidbits to speculate/discuss how and where the series may be going!
I am a re-reader and I just love it when a series is well thought out enough that I can go back and find things I missed the first time! Well Done!!
Review 👇 SPOILERS ALERT!!!
Another great book for my shelf! I love it! Amelia and Meryn, cousins? I did not see that one coming! Now Meryn is connected to the Makenzies (Aiden's House), the Ambrosias (Gavriel's House), the Monroes (Beth's House), the Ironwoods and the Ashleighs (Amelia's Houses). Not to mention having Ryuu as her squire! I really wonder what is coming that would warrant that much protection for a human. I guess we'll find out, huh?
I loved that Amelia and Darian's mating wasn't the same as the others by Amelia first dreaming of her mate when she is six years old (don't worry, nothing in that nature happens). And I absolutely love her relationships with her brothers because it reminds me of mine.
Now as much as I loved Amelia and Darian's story, there is one thing that bugged me, and that was, that it seemed the focus was more on other people and on the ferals that it was on their relationship. So I would change that one detail and make sure the book had a little more of their developing relationship.
But despite that, I still loved this book! Amelia's antics on top of Meryn's gave me bellyaches from laughing too hard. So I would definitely recommend this book to people looking for a good laugh.
