I promise to be brutally honest with my opinion, but it should not be taken as fact. Any reader should read it for themselves, before they decide if this book has any merit or not. Do not judge this book biased solely on my opinion. If you do, you might miss out on a great read. You never know. It could happen. My review may contain spoilers, but I really strive to be spoiler-free. I downloaded this book for free on Amazon.com. This book was not suggested nor "gifted" to me by the author. I have no affiliation with the author or his/her publisher.

1. Strong Main Character/ Female Heroine: Brennen has lost everything she has ever cared about. Everyone is gone from her life that was ever important in it, except her grandmother, but her memory is going and it is only a matter of time before she is gone as well. Brennen decides to stop being invisible and embrace her youth. I can relate to her in this way, because I used to be so afraid of what others thought of me. I used to take their jealousy and hate to heart, but like Brennen, I have learned to let it go by me. It is hard to stay unaffected, but I learned that haters quickly move on, when their prey pretend like they do not care. If words were stones, I would have been dead long ago, but I have the strength like Brennen has to move on. She is an inspiring heroine, even though she falls too quickly in love with the characters in this book. Although to give her credit, Elijah is really something and I believe that I would fall for him in two seconds as well, but Sam? It was unexpected and a little forced. It was too unbelievable for me and the way she kept going back and forth. It seemed out of character to me. I never imagined that Brennen would be that way and it is a little disappointing, because it takes away from her inner strength.

So in beginning it seems to take off really fast but I was ok with it. So far I haven't found a book who's second book isn't out yet but since I read this book before the second one well now I have to wait.

I fell in love with this book it has there funny moments and loving moments. I really liked the humor in it and the unbelievable side comments from the characters make it really funny (well to me)

It's a great book I think most people will like it.

This book was amazing. I love every thing about it. The story line is awesome. Although this book is labeled young adult, I believe it is for any age. Good and evil take on a new personal meaning for Brennan. Having her destiny explained to her is overwhelming. Yet, with her ambitious streak and humor, she will undoubtedly excel. The characters are great. The author has a way for the reader to connect to each one. The plot sucks you in, wanting to continue reading. I could not put it down. I can't wait to read 'My Soul to Take' next. Well written. A definite must add to your tbr list. Highly recommended.

I've had this book in my library for forever. On a whim, I picked it up. It was the perfect read! It has a juicy love triangle, paranormal goodness, mystery, and romance. I instantly started book two. Five glittery stars for the first book in the series!

the idea behind the story is fantastic, it's great actually, which is why i couldn't wait to buy it and finally read it. The description of the book which states an angel falls in love with the girl he is protecting made me think the story would be narrated in third person, but it was not. When i read a sample i thought it would be interesting to see how the author would manage to portray the Angel's feelings while depicting the story from the point of view of the main character. So with all that anticipation i paid $2.99 for a book that was literally only worth, to me, $0.99, better yet just give it away for free. The book was HORRIBLE! I could not believe that 1) i paid that much for the book, 2) that all these great reviews made me think the book really was great, 3) that i wasted my time actually reading it! I don't know whether it was the overly childish manner of the main character that ruined it or if it was the grammar, perhaps it could have been that the story itself was ludicrous! I get it that it's fiction so of course its not real, but most authors manage to draw you into the world they have created and leave you engrossed in their web of fantastical tales, this author however horribly failed at it. Getting groomed to be the first female president? are you serious??? i want my money back.

How sweet it is but how sad it is too. Seems you have to take the bad with the good if your the main character. Her life is full of moments of back and forth and stolen moments of love and romance that she can't control. I love the I have him but I can't have him in this book. What a strong character and greatstory

I liked the story, but when I got near the end I just felt that it was getting too convoluted. I think this might be one of those books where the author doesn't have a clear path for their characters, hopefully not...Otherwise it was so-so, not great, but not bad either.

I don't like leaving low reviews because I do respect the time and effort the author puts into writing a novel so I'm leaving 2 stars instead of 1. First of all I do not like first person point of view but that is just my opinion, not the reason for the low rating. I was lost before I finished the 2nd chapter. I spent more time re-reading earlier chapters because the author would make a reference to something that I didn't remember reading because I hadn't read it yet. It was hard to tell if I was in the past or present at any given time. I understand that this is a young adult paranormal romance but I was not comfortable with the content/age level. I would not let my teenage daughter read this. The author also repeated a lot of the descriptions. More variety would have been nice. I gave up trying to finish it and deleted it from my kindle. This is another example of a good idea being published too soon.
