Dani Clearwater (a.k.a Carolina Stronghill)Is running from her questionable past. She is ready to run if she has to to start over yet again. She has a bad boy neighbor who wants to get to know her better, and a Preacher man that has his eye on her also. Who will she choose. Will she fall back into old habits that could shine a light in the corners of her old life that she is on the run from? This is a delightfully twisted dark complex, suspenseful thriller. It will have you shaking your head and daydreaming of whom you would like to see sprawled out on broken glass. As if it wasn't hard enough hiding her past and being someone who really wasn't her. There is a killer on the loose and she is just the killers type. This story takes place in Albuquerque New Mexico.
This is not my normal type of read, but I found it captivating.V.P.Prucha is well versed in how to suck you in and keep you squirming under the weight of her words and the world she has prepared for you.Well done!
I have to confess, I heard about this book on Twitter so, naturally, I went to the website to read the free sample and I was hooked! I found the characters so engaging I connected on a very personal level, completely immersing myself in their plight. The author has an extraordinary ability to use her words, not only to paint a picture but to reach right in and tear out your heart. In fact, I found myself so captivated by the story that the few minor typos were merely a afterthought, brushed aside in a completely uncharacteristic (for me) manner. I only mentioned it as an example to express the spellbinding voice of this new author. I look forward to reading more from her.
I was very happy with way it was written and it was so descriptive that I felt transported into the book and didn't want to put it down even when I had to go to work.
Thanks V.J. I'm waiting for the next one
