Review

A rollercoaster of emotions... My Unexpected Forever gives us hope that in even the darkest of times, there is always light. We all deserve a second chance to learn to love again. It took my breath away. Five stars! ~ K. A Robinson, New York Times Best Selling Author of The Torn Series

I truly loved this book. I became invested in every single character because the perfect picture we could so easily envision for them was impossible to resist. This very emotional but much sexier installment of the Beaumont series could theoretically be read as a stand alone novel, but knowing Liam and Josie's story as well is preferable. ~ Natasha is a Book Junkie

As a wife and a mother, I have to tell you that this book affected me on so many levels I can't even begin to explain. It was one of those that  made my bottom lip quiver and my nose all stocked up and I loved every moment of it!  Very impressive writing indeed.
Without hesitation, I'm giving this this book a solid 5 stars.~ Liezel's Book Blog

My Unexpected Forever completely out did my expectations and blew Forever My Girl out of the water.  My Unexpected Forever is without a doubt a book that I would recommend, and Harrison is officially my new book boyfriend! ~ Holly's Hot Reads

My Unexpected Forever is one of those books that you must have uninterrupted reading time from start until finish... To say that I loved My Unexpected Forever would be an understatement. I'm not sure that I have adequate enough words to explain how much this story made me feel a part of the characters' lives and experiences and emotions. ~ Actin' Up with Books

If you have NOT read Forever My Girl, please read with caution. There are some spoilers that were unavoidable. Proceed with caution . . .

Who knew tattoos could be so hot? Certainly not me. Not that I'm against tattoos...just not really my thing. My opinion of them may have changed, though . . .

I'm not sure about you but when I found out this book was Harrison's story, I was a little bummed. I fell in love with Liam and Josie and desperately wanted more of them and was heartbroken to find out we were continuing their journey. So, for those of you who were the feeling the same way I was . . . have no fear! There's plenty of Josie & Liam to satisfy you but that won't matter by the end of this book because Harrison and Katelyn will steal your heart.

My favorite thing about this book might surprise but then again, I don't think it will. The kids; they are my favorite part about this book. You might think I'm weird for saying that because, hello, my favorite parts should be Harrison and Katelyn but those kids stole the show. Even over the very steamy scenes, which were aplenty. The twins, Elle and Peyton are just too precious; I've adored them since they were first introduced in Forever My Girl. We become more familiar with Quinn, Harrison's son and also his past (both of theirs), which is very interesting and extremely heartbreaking. Not to mention more of Noah, which is exciting because he's a Liam Jr.

This story begins nearly a year after Forever My Girl ends so while Katelyn is still in mourning of Mason, she always will be in mourning over his loss, she's had enough time to start adjusting to her life without him.

This is the second book in the Beaumont series, and while some may consider it a standalone, I don't. There is much that happens in the first book that sets this story up. Without that set up, you will be missing some essential history. But I loved Forever My Girl (my review here), so it is completely worth the reading ahead of time. I also enjoyed My Everything (my review here), and while it isn't required reading, it has a nice tie in to the series.

With that said, My Unexpected Forever is a beautiful story about second chances. Here Katelyn's story continues from FMG, which at the beginning her husband (and high school sweetheart) dies unexpectedly, leaving her a widow with twin young daughters. At the end of FMG, we are introduced to Harrison, Liam's band mate and drummer. We felt the connection between Katelyn and Harrison when they met, but to say it was an inappropriate time to pursue anything would be an understatement, as it was Katelyn and her daughters' first Christmas without Mason. But here we get to see how the rest of their story will play out.

Once again I commend Heidi on bringing realness to these situations - real characters, real emotions, real circumstances. In FMG I could relate to Liam. In MUF I could relate to Katelyn. I may not be a widow, but my husband and I have been dating or married for 20 years and we have three kids. I know if anything ever happened to him, I would be in no hurry to replace him. Because he's irreplaceable. He's my true love. So I look at Katelyn's circumstances and I just feel sad for her, and sad for her young girls, and the timing of it all. And I know I'm not the only one who can relate. I like that this story addressed the piece of someone's heart that would always be tied to that irreplaceable someone.

When I read a book I judge it like this: 5 stars= LOVE it! (I love 50 Shades, Beautiful Disaster, Playing for Keeps, and Perfection), 4 stars = Really like it (Real, Hopeless, Vincent Boys), 3 stars= it was ok (One week girlfriend, Never too Far, Before now) 2 stars= I just really didnt like the book (Collide, Accidentally on Purpose), and 1 star= Didnt like it, and I couldnt finish (Secret Weapon and with this collar). I have read around 100 books, and I have only given 2 1 star ratings.

Everyone has different ratings, and that is why I gave a few examples of what my taste would be like

I'm going to give this book 4 and a half stars. ☆☆☆☆ ½.
Why is because I thought some stuff or flash backs could of been left, thought a tiny bit of it was filler. Other than that, it was pure amazingness. I feel horrible even saying I loved it a TINY bit more than My Forever Girl and Liam and Jojo's story. Harrison is amazing. Plain and simple. I love this man, every man needs to be a Harrison. Men read this book and take note how he treats women, ya'll could learn a thing or two. I love that Katelyn didn't just automatically swoon over him, fall madly in love and give it up. She made him work for her love and boy did he work for it. I loved her obsession with his hair, I found my self obsessing over it also, I wanted to know what it looked like, haha. When she stands over him and watches him sleep I just wanted her to realize what she could have with this man and jump on him, these two were meant to be. I'm happy she met Mason and had a happy life with him and the girls, but Harrison and Katelyn were mean to be, you can just feel it. We got a good glimpse of Liam, Josie the kids, the band. It was amazing and those kids. I LOVED these kids especially Quinn, what a wonderful little boy and so mature for his age and the whole "birthing unit" situation. I can tell they are all going to be really good friends and I can't wait to see what the future has for these kids and their relationships, it's very exciting. The drama thrown into the book was very good and added excitement to the book. They needed to be tested, Katelyn needed to realize what she had in front of her face. I have soo many things I want to say about this book!! I feel like I have ADHD right now trying to put into words all my emotions for this books and scenes I simply adored.
