i bought this box set about 12 years ago when it came out, this box set along with the other dutch box set of lp replica sleeves that came out around 2010 are the best to get if you are into herman brood as well as his other projects, i cannot belive herman has been gone for over 13 years now, anyway if you can still find this box set grab it as it goes through most of hermans carrere and the track listing was just awesome, it is hard to get brood stuff in the us as he really was only a sensation in holland from the late 60s until his 2001 death, i love the cha cha movie with nina hagen and lene lovich as well from 1979, becouse of hermans drug habit he did very little touring in the us back in the day, i became a fan of the wild romance back in 1979 when they got a very brief push here in the states, go nutz is awesome and street is even better, as i am also a fan of 60s beat and blues i liked his first band cuby and the blizzards as well but it was really the heyday of the wild romance from 1977 to 1981 that impressed me the most, hermans band crossed a few territories like punk, new wave and dance as well as some blues, he sure was a one of a kind artist and sadly i do not know really any fans here in the us over the past 35 years that are familiar with him, anyway i have all the lps, cds a 3 dvd set from the 80s and the cha cha movie on dvd, also some japan viynl as well.Read more ›

I used to go see Herman Brood and his Wild Romance whenever I could, while growing up in Holland. After a rather rapid rise in popularity and an even faster fall Herman Brood went back to his roots. He performed in small dancehalls and youth centers sometimes playing for less than a hundred people. Mid song one of the band members would mutter: "I need a drink." Everybody would suppend at the bar for a beer and would shortly thereafter climb on stage once again and continue. I must have seen them fifteen times or more and this box set is the definate accolade. This and Cha Cha and you have it all.
