I had just recently purchased two 24" ViewSonic 1080p LED Monitors from Amazon, so I now had a very nice Compaq 17" monitor sitting idle.
I also had an extra digital TV tuner that was very high tech and it sat idle. I figured I could make a nice secondary Television out of the two if I could find the right interface. I googled and "Amazoned" until I decided this unit was exactly what I wanted.
Nice brief instruction booklet - tells you enough. Then I hooked it up and started playing with the features. It's almost as if the built-in firmware were for a mini photoshop. The parameters are in 255 format and the flexibility is great. The hue adj is unusually usable, the brightness and contrast are at least as good as expected and the Saturation adj is really effective for tuning the color/b&w ratio/balance to perfection for a natural appearance... particularly with flesh-tones.
it even includes a sound in/out with on-screen volume control as well as a wide range of resolution configuration options. Also has S-Video and game-type VGA inputs.
It seems to have flash memory for settings because it remembers them when power input is removed. Nice Piece... if I need another one- this is the one I'll get.
Note: set your Monitor to a preset high-temp setting and tweak settings with this converter.
