My 8 yr old liked the A-Z Mysteries so we tried this Super Edition, it was a hit too. The super edition has clues hidden in the illustrations that have to be solved throughout the book. It was a great addition to keep him even more motivated. We are buying the rest of them now.

Dink, Ruth Rose and Josh go to a camp to learn more about being detectives. What they didn't know is that they were about to be involved in a real life mystery. The camp was formed to help children learn more about how to identify a fraud signature, how to lift and identify a finger print and more. What the kids discovered was that one of the employees was not exactly who they claimed to be. The children shared their hunch with a detective that was working at the camp and soon he too was on the case.

The A to Z Mystery series is a wonderful group of books. Both of my children have read them and enjoy trying to figure out the clues as they are reveiled. I would recommend this series of books for any early reader in your life.

It is ok for little kids but the series tends to be pretty much the same. I would not buy all of them but one or two is ok.

As one of my third graders informed me, if you look at the pictures before you read, you know who did it. Takes a lot of the fun out of the book. Otherwise, a fun detective story for elementary school readers.

I rated this book 5 stars because it was so mysterious. It was really exciting when Madum Musel lost her ring. I think you should buy it and read the whole thing! I can't wait to read the rest of the books.

Then things start disappearing. Who is the theif? Can Dink, Josh, and Ruth Rose catch her (or him) before it's too late? And can they find out why Buzzy is acting like he is? A great book!:)

"Detective Camp" (A-Z Mysteries Super Edition, No 1), by Ron Roy

Now that I have read all of the 26 A-Z mysteries, starring Dink, Josh, and Ruth Rose, one for each letter of the alphabet, there are Super Edition A-Z mysteries with these same characters! Thank goodness! I love these characters, and I want more books with them. These books are warm and cozy. I love these characters. They are best friends with each other, and they have good examples. Also, there are Calendar Mysteries, starring their younger siblings/cousin.

In this particular book, the 4 main characters spend a week at Detective Camp. It is the first camp that the owners have done. The camp is to teach about detective skills. They have detective classes, s'mores, chores, games, and other camping activities.

Who knew that Detective Camp would have a real case that needs to be solved? And who will solve it? Dink, Josh, and Ruth Rose, of course. This book is warm and cozy and fun. I enjoyed the "week at camp"; it was fun.

I love these characters and their examples.
