This series is amazing, suspenseful, mysterious and uplifting with twists and turns. They show how important it is to have faith and trust in God while remembering that we only see our little bit of life and He can see how everything turns out. I am loving it. Note to the author - because of how you end each book, please write faster.
One funny sentence caught my eye. A reporter said that she "could not turn that up" referring to an interview. I believe it should have been "could not turn that down" or "could not pass it up." There have been a few errors in every book and it was unfortunate that most of the ones in this book were toward the end. Some examples are 'effect' instead of 'affect', 'reign' instead of 'rein', 'it' instead of 'are', and two places where a comment was made and then the next one by that character cancelled it out. Things like that.
I have already downloaded all his other books so I'm off to read one of those while waiting for the next in this series. Highly recommended.
This is my first book in David Chance's series and so far second English book that though I'm done reading but will keep me in author's site interested in other reviewers opinions. I agree that readers may or really like or not like this book based on religious orientation, different conjectures, acceptance etc, but can't agree with claims that it's a boring one. At least was not for someone for whom English is 3th language. Not even a bit. The only boring thing for me was looking unfamiliar words in Google translator. And I'm glad I got to read 3th book first, because according most reviews this is the weakest in series. It makes me curious to find out how good first two are then. So, definitely MESSAGES and VOICES are next two books for me to read.
It's very interesting book with lot of good messages and quotes. Characters and every details about them, even names and where they come from are chosen cleverly for reason. The only part that for short time (as I hoped) a bit cooled my interest down was when David and others went into the building where Ben was held. But that's only because I'm not into zombi-like characters at all. Others may enjoy. It still had its meaning what lost souls are like, but... As I said, luckily for me that was only short until David was taken an other room and author back to his previous plot.
One little note to author: I'd like him mention not one but different ways of hearing God's word in next books, as writing about such topic is very serious and responsible thing that's meant to reach hearts and help in making right choices and changes, not work as distraction. Maybe he did it in previous books. I'll find out very soon. However, in LIES were enough characters who could be given that gift of receiving right messages differently. That would make it even more interesting for everybody and more acceptable for Christian religious readers.
I chose this book for it's title and description, which did not disappoint me. And I do recommend it.
