About the Author

LINDA S. BROWNING has been writing in her head since the age of twelve, sometimes simply to relieve brain overcrowding. After retiring from a career in social work and office management, Linda began testing the waters of the writing profession via short story competitions. Winning First Place in the Mystery Times Ten 2013 competition for Buddhapuss Ink fulfilled a lifelong dream of publication. She is currently working on a novel featuring the two characters from her winning short story. She resides in a retirement community in TN with her husband.
JOHN JASPER OWENS lives in the South, where he blogs for T2N, a diabetes magazine, and continues to offer fiction and humor at low, low prices. You ll also find him lurking at the various ports of call to be found when you Google his full name.
FAYE RAPOPORT DESPRES earned her MFA from the Solstice Creative Writing Program at Pine Manor College. Her debut book, Message from a Blue Jay: Love, Loss, and a Writer s Journey Home, will be published by Buddhapuss Ink in Spring 2014. Her essays, fiction, poetry, interviews, and reviews have appeared in a variety of literary journals and magazines. She lives in the Boston area with her husband, Jean-Paul, and four cats.
CYNDY E. LIVELY is a retired physician living in Winston-Salem, NC. While she has been pursuing her dream of becoming a published novelist, her short fiction has appeared in Jupiter magazine, Leading Edge, and two short story anthologies.
SELAINE HENRIKSEN has supported her writing habit by working a variety of jobs over the years, from bookstore clerk to research technologist. Currently a fitness instructor and mom to two editors-in-training, she lives in Ottawa, ON, where she is a member of Capital Crime Writers. She has eclectic reading tastes, as well as writing, but is a firm believer that at the heart of every good story is a mystery.
WENDY SPARROW writes for adult and young adult audiences with a focus on happily ever after. She reads far too late into the night and laughs at her own jokes. Wendy is an autism advocate and a cleaning procrastinator, and spends far too much time on Twitter.
TOM IRISH is a writer, teacher, and father who lives in Davenport, IA. He has been published in CALLIOPE magazine, The Mochila Review, and at thewritegallery.
GEORGIA RUTH lives in the foothills of North Carolina. Now retired, she managed a family restaurant for ten years and worked in sales for fifteen. Both produced rich soil for her fertile imagination. Georgia has been a member of Sisters in Crime for three years.
MEGAN GREEN's adventure into the realm of words began at a young age, when she and her mother would make up bedtime stories. Since then words have been her life, inspiration, and infinite joy. She recently graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor of liberal studies from Bowling Green State University, Firelands. She plans to continue her education in graduate school in 2014, where she would like to obtain an MFA in creative writing.
Bonus Stories by:
KC SPRAYBERRY juggles her writing in between a son in a band, a loving husband, a reformed barn cat, and an excitable black Lab puppy determined to play all day long. She lives in northwest Georgia and often uses local settings in her stories. Her first love in writing is for young adults, be it historical, contemporary, sci-fi, or fantasy, a short story or a full-length novel.
PAULA GAIL BENSON, a legislative attorney and former law librarian, belongs to Mystery Writers of America, Sisters in Crime, and Romance Writers of America. She enjoys attending writing and mystery conferences, moderating panels for the South Carolina Book Festival, and writing and directing original plays and musicals for her church s drama ministry.
