Mystery Times Nine 2012 is an anthology of murder mysteries from the paranormal to the traditional. For example, take Wendy Sparrow's story, "Time Slime and Other Acne Cures. Sixteen-year-old Reagan Ronald Miller, a boy genius and last man in the high school food chain, finds himself snatched by a computer and hurled into the future to uncover a time worm lodged in the mind of someone he knows. It's up to Reagan to find the worm and destroy it.
Then there's "The Shame of West Landry" by KC Sprayberry, a story about mysterious fires set in a small Georgia town. It's up to photographer Bree Sandowski to step out of her comfort zone and stop the arsonist and resulting murders plaguing her town.
There are seven other stories mystery fans would not want to miss.
Michael Thal is the author of "The Legend of Koolura" and "Goodbye Tchaikovsky".
