A fast paced, smartly woven, paranormal romance, sure to keep you turning the pages long into the night. I loved this entertaining account of Nix, a sea nymph-turned tattoo artist-trying to be a regular girl in a seemingly normal world. When dead bodies start showing up outside her tattoo shop in Mystic, CT, Nix is thrown into a battle between the underworld and the earthly world she is trying so hard to fit into. Enter Cal, a steamy hunk of a demi-god from the underworld sent to keep an eye on our heroine, a woman who neither needs nor wants his assistance. I won't go any further into the story because it's worth reading every page to find out what happens between these two strong and sexy characters, but I will say there are some interesting secondary characters as well, and Wyatt's clean writing style kept me captivated throughout. Great job! Definitely an author to watch.

I absolutely loved this book, Paranormal Romance without a vampire in sight! Nix is strong, sassy and a sea Nymph. Tattoos, parrots and a smoking hot supernatural agent all in Mystic, Connecticut. Where else would a sea Nymph live? Cold corpses + hot sex + warm sand = awesome reading! Can't wait for Casey Wyatt's next book.

Casey Wyatt weaves into her page-turning romance, tons of action and fascinating, well-drawn characters, such as a cranky, shape-shifting parrot and a cloak with a soul. Wyatt taunts us with a heroine, Nix, whose memories have been scrubbed, as she falls in love all over again with the hunky hero, Cal. Mystic Ink's supernatural world of gods, goddesses, nymphs, fawns, and save-the-world missions is grounded by the story's setting in touristy Mystic, Connecticut. A great read!

**Warning, slightly spoilerish - though I don't give the end away or anything**

Meh, it was alright. The writing was perfectly readable and it was well edited. I have no complaints on that front. But the story had a number of elements that I just plain dislike. For one, though Nix was the main character and the events centred around her, it wasn't her who saved the day. Nope, Gods forbid the woman be in on the important action. Instead she ran around from the start of the book until the end, encountering and being attacked by one mythological creature after another. Note, not intentionally doing anything but instead reacting to a presented stimuli. Then in the end, all her male protectors went behind her back and saved the day. It was subtle, but all the impetus was taken by the men. At one point Cal even asked her, 'Do you trust me?...Then hold your questions a little longer.' In other words she not only wasn't in on the action, she wasn't even allowed to ask about it. This was all further exasperated by the fact that all of the power players were Gods. The only real Goddess you get to know is vapid and too busy with her facials and pedicures to be important.

Then there was the complete mishmash of pantheons. I get that this was intentional. The D.L. was after all an alliance of them. But come on, first we're presented with the Greeks (including Sitars, Cyclops, Titans, Nymphs, Fates, Furies, Basilisk, etc), then the Egyptians. I'm still on board at this point. Then the Elves show up. Huh? And then Aliens! Really, WTF, it was just too much, too cluttered, too many disparate genre thrown together.

Then there was how easily everything wrapped up. The bad guy was defeated with absolute ease. More than once problems were overcome almost miraculously.

I am not quite sure how this book came to my attention; it must have been if you liked this book then you may like this book recommendation on goodreads or amazon. I am so glad I took the recommendation; this was such a great book! This book was like the Percy Jackson series only for adults. There are all types of Gods and Goddesses, mythical creatures of all types and quests. It was fast paced and interesting, with curve balls thrown in to keep you guessing. The romance factor was high, but the actual sex scenes were low. If you like mythology, gods, and goddesses you'll love this book.

I adored Nix, she was tough and stood on her own. She is not the type to just take orders and not question things, she is intelligent and wants to know why and make her own decisions. As the owner of Mystic Ink, she is also a guardian to the underworld, so when dead bodies start showing up in her alley she wants to know why. She is also a Destroyer, a keeper of peace if you will; she is one of the Elite forces that helps maintain peace within the immortal and human races. Between those two gigs and her day job of being a tattoo artist her days are full. If only she didn't have Agent Calder looking over her shoulder, his presence pisses her off on principal, she doesn't need a baby sitter, but underlying that is an overwhelming attraction to Cal. When his soul is stolen, Nix and Cal have to spend more time together and the more time they spend together the more confused she feels. She doesn't understand why she knows things about him, she shouldn't know. I truly enjoyed Nix she was such a great character.

Cal about breaks your heart, he's been grieving for his lost relationship for a 100 years. For a 100 years he remembers that relationship past, but the girl doesn't remember him.
