Unashamedly synthetic early-90's New Age, and I love it.
on February 15, 2016
My parents got into Cusco back when I was a kid, and I liked their stuff too. It took me a while, but I finally got back into them recently and decided to buy several of their albums, this being the first one on my list. I sought it out specifically for the tracks "Lucky Jack" and "Solitude".
Make no mistake, this music is the epitome of early-90s New Age. It's unashamedly synthetic and perhaps a little formulaic in places. But I personally think it's delightful music, and a nice departure from Cusco's main series, Apurimac, which is largely focused on and inspired by Aztec, Mayan and Incan cultures. Listening to this album for the first time in 23 years was a wonderful trip down memory lane.
