Format: Kindle Edition
I've just completed my first read-thru of David Cole's "The Mystic Path of Meditation: Beginning a Christ-Centered Journey" (Anamchara Books 2013). I say first "read-thru" because I will be reading and learning from this book for some time to come. David's writing style is simple, straight-forward and engaging. No etherial, meandering dialogue here. The author lays out in clear language just what Christ-centered meditation is and why it is both scriptural and relevant for Christ followers today.

Along the way he tackles some of the hot-button (for many Christians) terms that surface whenever meditation is discussed, such as mysticism, mantra and visualization, and he does it from a clearly Scriptural perspective.

What I especially appreciate about this book is that it is written for those who are testing the waters, and want to know what Christian meditation is all about before diving in. This book does it beautifully in the first chapters, then gently guides the reader through the simple beginning steps of Christ-centered meditation.

This is absolutely the best book I have seen to date on this topic, and I am looking forward to using it in my own journey.

This book is the best book I have read on educating a person on what "Mystic Meditation" is for / from Ancient Christian belief. It has scripture to aid on every topic he expounds on and give practical examples with study patterns to learn.
It's easy to understand, so practical and applicable for every person to learn.
Meditation is made clear that from a Christian base it is 'Outward' with emphasis on then giving away that formation of love where as other Meditations are 'inward' focusing on the self.
I would highly recommend this book for everyone, especially in our fast paced Western society where we can't stop to listen or bare to be silent.
