Mazurk sculpts her stories about the risks and courage that shape us as human beings. She focuses on the relationships that surround us and how their interaction can change the direction of our lives. And that is exactly how she paces this new work. Her lead character, Jenna Nichols, is a writer and a psychic. She combines the two gifts in her work and that has been one of the reasons for her success. Her counterpart is one Aidan Scott whose is a journalist whose reportage is rooted in pure facts. Cleverly and out of an obvious attraction to Aidan, Jenna coaxes him into developing a mystical situation that she plans to use as the core of her next novel. This mutual attraction has its dark side as well as a strong physical pull and as the two explore each other's pasts and personalities there is an otherworldly factor that enters and threatens each of them as well as their relationship.
Mazurk has the genre down pat, and while this novel may well be placed in the `chick lit' category, that label would prevent men from gaining the insights her book offers to the way relationships and individuals change and evolve when faced with `Aha' moments. Romance she has down well - perhaps a strong mystery or thriller will be Christine Mazurk's next step. She is ready for it. Grady Harp, February 14
With “Mystical Connections,” Christine Mazurk has created a pair of relatable and very likable characters in Jenna and Aidan. I found myself pulling for them right away. Mazurk’s gift for writing is undeniable, but her strongest point is with her dialogue. It was as natural as it might be if the two were in the same room with you. The plot has some wonderful twists and turns—it kept me reading until about 2 in the morning. I just had to find out how it ended! Captivating right up until the last word. Highly recommended!
That's the basis of this book and I was drawn in from the very beginning. I quickly found myself caring about Jenna and wishing that she really was an author with lots of best selling books for me to read! I wanted to buy and read them because I liked her so very much.
The other characters are equally as appealing and all I wanted to do was read more about them. Honestly, if I hadn't been reading on a Kindle, I might have peeked at the last page to see how it was going to end! It was THAT great that I didn't want to wait to find out!
If you like to read a heartfelt story with characters so real that you want to sit down and talk to them, this is the book for you! Mystical Connections did connect with me and made me wish there were 4 or 5 more Mystical Connection books.
Do yourself a favor and try this great book. Then when you're done, go try Christine Mazurk's other books. They're different than Mystical Connections, but just as excellent!

How the couple comes together - first to piece the puzzle of their own pasts and later to work at their own relationship - forms the crux of the story. The lead characters are well-etched and the narration moves along nicely. An interesting touch to the quintessential romance tale is provided by psychic elements that threaten to tear apart the two lovers. Worth a read.
I am interested to look at the other works of the author, if only to see if they are as good as this one.
