Good synopsis of all the puranas and the vedas. Does not deal much beyond tales associated with Gods etc. That is the beauty of this book. Crisp and to the point. Though not comprehensive, good book for starters and those looking for a synopsis of the various hindu myths.

This is such a great text. I’m a huge fan of Hinduism but as everyone knows, the sheer amount of information to be learned is formidable to say the least. This book is a fantastic introduction (just the one I’ve been looking for for a long time!) that systematically and in direct terms lays out the basics.
