Becoming an Amazon Top Reviewer is not easy. Amazon counts more than 50+ million reviewers. Reviewers are ranked not only by the number of reviews they write but also by the numbers of “likes” their reviews garner. Potential buyers are picky. Just retelling the book’s content does not really score well. Potential buyers want to read reviewers’ opinions and perhaps comparisons to other books. Therefore, reviewers have to put effort into writing their reviews. Personally, I have worked on reviews anywhere from half an hour to two hours on top of the time it takes to read the book. It is the same for all other reviewers.
Having graduated with a master’s degree in Film and Mass Media from the University of Vienna, I find this new way of information exchange, which can be combined with effective marketing, fascinating. To acquire the information listed in this book, I have reviewed hundreds of books, studied thousands of reviews and checked their effects by looking at thousands of book sales ranks.
My work as an Amazon ecommerce review expert has been featured on Bloomberg (podcast) and on NBC News (blog); my work as an email evangelist was featured in the SUCCESS magazine and in Entrepreneur. I am also a frequent guest, speaking about communications topics, on WYFF-4, my local NBC TV-station.
