Two things stand out immediately as vast improvements over last year. The gameplay and the graphics. As for the gameplay, it is so much more fluid, and unlike last year, you have the ability to run the fastbreak and run it well. The shooting mechanic and the feedback that comes along with it is very helpful. It will take a while to get a good rhythm going, but once you have the shot down, then it represents a realistic result in terms of being open, the skill of your player, and etc. Another thing that helps out the game play is spacing of the players; which is a key to be able to run a successful offense.
The graphics are another thing that have received a giant overhaul for Live 15. Using the Face Scan technology definitely helps make things look more realistic, especially compared to some of the models last year. The crowd is also noticeably more alive as well, but not only do they look good, but the crowd atmosphere is AMAZING. Their reactions to the action on the court is the best it's ever been in the series, and makes the drama of taking a three or a buzzer beater real.
The downfall of the game is the fact that no new game modes were added to the game such as the popular ADIDAS Live Run, or an Online Dynasty. With the time spent upgrading the core of the game, it came at the sacrifice of adding new features. With that said, the better gameplay makes Rising Star much more enjoyable.Read more ›
Here's a look at them:
Tip Off: Play a game of the teams your choice.
LEARN LIVE Adidas: This is a great feature that lets you practice and learn how to play the game. You can hit the hardwood by going over your favorites moves, crossovers, dunks, etc. Giving players the chance to learn how to play the game before actually playing a game is a real plus in my book. More games should offer this feature.
LIVE ULTIMATE TEAM: This mode lets you build your own NBA Team by opening packs of cards featuring the today's NBA Players, Coaches, NBA Jerseys, NBA Contracts and NBA Arenas. You can buy or sell items you have in the Auction house to create your own Ultimate NBA Team. It's a great way to build your very own NBA Franchise from the ground up. Warning, once you get started playing this mode, it's highly addictive.
HEAD2HEAD: You can go online and face players from around the world. One thing you don't have to worry about is not being able to get online like a certain other NBA game that's on the market now. The server stability in this game makes it a great way to play friends, family or people you don't even know online.
DYNASTY MODE: This will give you the opportunity to be the General Manager of your favorite NBA Team.Read more ›
From what was done last year, the ball physics are done the best yet again, and now another layer of tangibility is added with the ragdoll physics that take place on shot contact in the game. It shines brightest with the activity that takes place in the paint. Whether it's the contact of a big body defender preventing a clear drive to the hole with a hard contest or a ball handler like Lebron James going hard to the rack for a posterizing dunk over a not so hot defender like Mike Dunleavy. Also on jumpshot attempts. It's good to see for the most part when being called for a shooting foul. I go into instant replay and a good amount of the time, when it's a shooting foul from outside the paint, it's nice to see where the contact was actually made to draw the whistle. This needs to happen in all sports games where physics and positioning dictate gameplay outcomes over hard-coded animated sequences at all times.
I also like the dribbling system in the game that was brought back from NBA Live 10, as it adds a lot more control which was missing to a moderate extent in Live 14. The startup refinement to the post game is nice to see, but needs a lot more detailed work and depth added as well for both offense and defense.Read more ›

overall decent game. graphics on uniforms are a bit cheezy but what is up with the shooting? No way on earth will anyone get shooting that equals to the player's true skill level. Read morePublished 1 month ago by GoHawks
