The 1st lasted a few years and actually had very good noise cancellation properties (significantly better than my SonyMDR NC7)
The quality of audio was descent enough for plane travel
My 1st pair broke at the hinge on top of the phones (as they were totally collapsible.)
I deliberately picked this model (the one in the NC300B photo) because it did not have that hinge. The one that was sent to me was in fact the collapsible one with hinge.
It will be returned.
I ordered yet another True Fidelity model that shows the pic without the hinge at top
Will post a review of that when received
I am a musician / audiophile. I am not expecting these to sound as good as studio monitors, however, these work very well at diminishing the noise on a plane. So much so that I really missed them on my last flight!
I don't see the point of springing for the Bose, when these did the job just fine for a flight
The good ... out of the box the sound quality is very good and noise cancellation properties very effective.
We bought them since we were flying overseas (Singapore) and just returned ... 6 legs to flights. By the 6th leg they were barely working ... stero going in and out, right ear only, left ear only, NO sound without a lot of delicate twisting and adjusting of cables.
Design issue ... the ear cups are too SMALL! ... i can't imagine what they were thinking (i'm only 5'9") and they overlay the both tops and bottoms of your ears ... they have to be removed often to allow blow back into your ear lobes. SAD
Apparently audio reviewers only consider fidelity in an ideal environment and do not bother with any type of "extended" wear testing. So much for ratings.
Has been used for outdoor work almost exclusively
It is exposed to dust, UV etc(not daily)
Noise canceling quality not at the level of BOSE and the like BUT very durable and well worth the cost
Bought another pair for "inside/clean" use
2 Koss and a Logitech pair thumbs DOWN before this pair
