I must start this message my saying that I'm in African American male that has seen this movie twice. I love this movie!! I've ordered several of the dolls strictly as conversation pieces and to add to my movie memorabilia collection. They are durable, colorful, and wonderful pieces that I can't wait to add to my collection. Not only that each doll is moveable, even though I wouldn't recommend removing such a collector's item from the box.

Quite frankly, the movie portrayed an interesting take on a spaghetti western with a brief but somewhat tame look into the slave trade in the late 1800's. While dramatized quite a bit I found the story to be very intelligent and the undertones of the story exposed just how ignorant the whole process of slave trading was, how uneducated the slave traders were, and how ignorant that some of the Klan members were during that period. More importantly were the contrasting relationships between "Django" and "Shultz" and "Candie" and "Stephen"! "Shultz" empowered "Django", felt responsible for him, understood his talents, and eventually scarified his life for "Django". On the other hand, "Stephen" saw his master/friend being taken advantage of and quickly detected the scheme that "Django" and "Shultz" were attempting run on "Candie" so he saw himself as protecting his interests in "Candy Land". Brilliant!

Having done a body count - there were way more "slavers" killed then there were "slaves". Many of the "slavers" that were killed were by the hands of a "slave". With that said, the concerns that many people express are similar to those when the Westerns were first produced and the Indians were portrayed as this savage and unintelligent race of people.

Huge Django Unchained fan here. I saw it twice and I think it's Tarantino's best movie since Kill Bill. I was pleasantly surprised to find out they made figures based off the movie, so I didn't hesitate in getting my very own Samuel L. Jackson doll! If you have the Reservoir Dogs figures, you get the basic idea of the presentation of these ones. As collectibles from a hard R-rated movie, I can't imagine kids getting much enjoyment out of having Mr. Blonde duke it out with Calvin Candie.... although I did have Robocop/Terminator figures when I was a kid and loved the hell out of those. Ever see those movies? Hmm.

Anyway, these are clearly made for the adult collector; it even says so on the box. If you dug the movie, I recommendhey hey HEY GET YOUR HANDS OFF ME!! GET AWAY FROM ME!! OW!! HELP!!............

Sorry for the interruption, folks. Pay no attention to the above review. I'm a representative of the United Whiny Pussies of America and I'm here to tell you why you shouldn't purchase this product. It's offensive. OFFENSIVE! It's so offensive that we've decided to make up your minds for you and have these dolls pulled off the shelves. As adults, you are not capable of making your own decisions when it comes to how you want to spend your money. And, as adults ourselves, we refuse to accept that anyone would dare possess the audacity to have a different point of view from our own and we will bitch and moan until we get what we want. It's the American way.

What's that? If we don't like it, we don't have to buy it? HA! More like if we don't like it, NOBODY can buy it! Free market, free schmarket. We own this piece.

As a black man, I will say that these figures are NOT offensive to me. People need to stop being overly sensitive. Movie was great, and these figures are awesome.

If you people complaining do not like the figures, then guess what? DO NOT BUY IT! Just because you say something is offensive does not make it offensive to someone else. Let people enjoy it and shut up! I bet you all are just a bunch of middle aged white women.

I don't care what race you are, but if you find anything about these collectable dolls offensive, you are an idiot. Django Unchained is a movie about a white man who frees a black man and they work together to rescue the black mans wife. The movie shows how slavery is wrong, and how awful the white plantation owners were back then. The film contains racist characters, but is not a racist film. The film is also rated R for violence, language, and brief nudity, meaning only people ages 17 and up can see it. The fans of this film are adults and said fans are the ones who would purchase these collectable dolls, which by the way, are also rated 17 and up. Therefore, the only people who would be able to obtain these dolls are adults. NO CHILDREN ARE ABLE TO OBTAIN THESE DOLLS OR PLAY WITH THEM OR REENACT VIOLENT ACTIONS UNLESS A PARENT GAVE IT TO THEM! And all you idiots had to get butthurt that a doll which is considered a collectable, not to be opened or played with and therefore does not match the description of a "toy", you managed to stop production. This has backfired on you, because now these are rare and extremely valuable. These $30 dolls are now worth several hundred dollars, and will forever be remembered and treasured. I never see these kinds of reviews on collectables for things like Patrick Bateman, Michael Myers, or even Halo or Gears of War dolls. People in this country are perfectly fine with violence. But if you add racism into the mix, everybody suddenly turns into ignorant morons. I was fortunate enough to purchase a set of these before they were discontinued, but I feel bad for other fans of the movie like myself who will either never get them or have to pay thousands of dollars to require such an amazing set. Again, I stress, they are collectable adult dolls made for an adult movie which isn't even racist in the first place, and if you believe anything different whether you're white, black, or anything else, you are a fool.
