Okay, so first off, the paint on these is unprotected and is generally shoddy as hell. Both the pyro and demoman came with huge gouges in the paint that i now must repair at my own expense because the paint is very easy to rub off. On demoman's white sleeves, the red from his upper arms rubs off onto the white, MORE that I have to repair at my own expense! Moreover, on demoman, the fingers of the model cannot hold his grenade launcher. If you try, it'll break the trigger off, guaranteed, every time. He has an entire prop that He can't even hold. Half the hands included are for him to hold things with two hands, it's not possible. These things are almost impossible to pose, or even get standing up. It's 20 bucks so if you're gonna keep it in packaging, sure, but if you intend to pose this figure and display it, it's not worth your investment, it's just going to frustrate you. Luckily the stuff that broke on mine was repairable, if you aren't careful with the guns he comes with you could irreparably damage the model simply because NECA's model was poor quality. THe gordon freeman model is so sturdy, what happened on this one? It's built like crap.

I was very excited to get this after it was announced, but when it finally came in the Demo man was missing the front flap that covers his crotch. I returned it and haven't replaced it yet. There are also several spots where the paint has rubbed of on different areas of the body and the joints are very stiff. I was going to pose him and place him on my desk, so that wasn't as big of a deal. However, you will need to get a base or stand if you expect him to stay standing if something bumps your desk.

I was very much pleased with the condition of the RED Demoman. And in case you're wondering, yes, there is the little piece of paper with a smiley face on him. He also comes with all of his default weapons: grenade launcher, sticky bomb launcher, and his bottle.

I was lucky to have even FIND the RED version and at a reasonable price for $30 considering that these figures are a limited run.

You do have to be a bit careful when switching out his hands. I have found this to be a problem with NECA figures in general.

This was a very cool action figure, but there is one problem. When I received it in the mail and opened it, the figure had two of the same hand. Instead of getting a hand that allows it to hold a gun, it got an extra hand that holds the bottle. I was sad because the demoman could not properly hold it's grenade launcher or sticky bomb launcher. The extra hand did not even have a bottle. I looks pretty silly because he has to have 2 left hands. I contacted Neca with their email, but they never responded. I bought this item Several months ago.

So I got this figure the week it came out for a nice cheap price. Considering that, I'd say I'm satisfied with it, though I'd not buy it at the higher scalper prices I'm seeing it at lately. He is rather disappointing.
At least he looks good. The Demoman has a great sculpt that retains his unique silhouette and appearance in the game perfectly. He even has the smiley face sticky under his crotch flap for some taunting action (Ka-bewm!). His two weapons are also impeccable, looking exactly as they do in the game. He can barely hold them however, and can't really take the same stance he does in the game. Wielding his bomb launchers with both hands is tricky, but possible. His bottle of booze is unfortunately fixed into the spare hand that comes with him, and can't be held as a melee weapon which is certainly a bizarre design choice.

What absolutely kills the figure is his articulation. While there is a decent range of motion, the design of his hips and ankles makes it impossible to stand him up straight for more than a few moments. The joints are simply too weak. The longest I could get out of him in a vertical posture is a half-hour. Just when I get him into a somewhat stable position, he topples forward. Thankfully he's quite durable, and several falls from a shelf have yet to break him. His knees are also oddly designed, resulting in a limited range of motion (he can't bend them 90 degrees).
Aside from his inability to stand, his elbows have a limited range, and the head can't turn or move at all (at least on mine). Instead of a simple ball-jointed neck, the head seems to be attached to a long plastic post that descends into his chest/torso piece for some reason.

Team Fortress 2 is a fun multiplayer first-person shooter game. Even though TF2 was released in 2007, it is really cool that NECA is making these figures. I have played TF2 multiple times and it is really fun. When I saw these figures are first I was a little skeptical, but I decided to give them a chance and I am glad I did. I got both Demoman and Pyro, but this is just for Demoman. On the back of the packaging, it shows all of the different characters from TF2 and it says "collect them all." I am assuming that this means that NECA will be releasing all of these characters in figure form which would be really cool. Demoman is a really cool character and I like that NECA released him in the first wave. Demoman is a really cool figure so lets get in to him. Demoman stands about 7" tall and is a "deluxe" figure according to NECA. There is not a ton of detail in his clothes or shoes or anything, but there is detail in his face and accessories. For what detail the figure has, it is very good. The sculpt is also very good. Demoman is very big and the sculpt looks great. His legs are a little bit too thin in my opinion. The paint is unprotected, but is overall good. If you really try, you can scratch off the paint. There is minimal paint error on my figure, only a few little spots. The colors look really good on this figure. Finally, the articulation. It is not bad at all. Demoman has 15+ points of articulation. The joints are easy to move and once you figure out how to balance him, you put him in cool poses. Demoman comes with a bunch of cool accessories. He comes with a grenade launcher, a sticky bomb gun, a bottle of alcohol, and two interchangeable hands. The detail and paint are nice on the accessories too. These are the things people are complaining about.Read more ›
