Make no doubt about it, this stand is flimsy. Sure, it may be "strong" when compared to a stand made out of uncooked spaghetti noodles, but let's be honest, if you're intending it to be load-bearing in any way, this is not strong. I purchased this to hold a 43" reflector, and perhaps I didn't adequately read the fine print, but there are two important things that became painfully evident within 30-seconds of setting it up and attaching the reflector and arm to it.

#1 - you must have some sort of sandbag/weight on at least one leg to prevent it from tipping over. Even the relatively light weight reflector and arm were enough to cause this stand to topple over. Sure, you can hit a specific balance point where it holds its own and does't fall over -- but then you just cut out 99% of the flexible range of motion in which the versatility of a reflector is rendered useless.

#2 - you cannot (I repeat, CANNOT) fully extend the poles to their fullest height without the entire thing bending like a wobbly piece of precariousness. Anything beyond halfway and the poles are no longer straight. This also greatly reduces the possible range/height and usefulness of this stand. Pair that with the fact that the top section is too thin for my reflector arm to attach to (causing me to use the middle section and lose an entire 2' of height) and this "6-Foot Stand" in all reality only gives you a 3-foot stand.

It gets one star because it's true that it is a stand. It gets another star because it has the possibility of extending to 6 feet. It loses out on any additional stars because those two points on their own render it almost useless.

It seems as if once again, you get what you pay for. Will I go through the hassle to return a $12 stand? No. Will I find another use for it?

Cheap. Cheap. Cheap. Twist it a couple times and the threads are totally jacked. Flimsy. Awful. Don't know how many synonyms for "bad news" I can say, but consider all of them said. There is NO WAY on planet earth that this is a "professional" quality stand. Wasted my money.

Thank goodness I purchased this WELL in advance of a wedding I have to shoot in October - I now have time to find another one.

I have a 43" reflector and when I mounted the boom arm to the stand with the reflector, the stand BENT!!!

Also, with the reflector and boom arm mounted the stand legs slowly inverted and sank to the floor, collapsing on themselves. And I don't even think a sandbag would keep this think upright, although I never bothered to get far enough to try one. Thank goodness I didn't have an expensive light mounted to it when it collapsed!!

This stand MAY be fine for holding a cheap speedlight you don't mind losing, but if you actually need something STURDY, keep looking!!!

This product does not adequately hold a 5x7 collapsible background as advertised. it is too short for the background to be suspended.

It is a 6ft light stand. No fuss, no frills. It is just that. Handles a Lastolight 24" softbox or a 43" umbrella equally fine. It is light weight and breaks down quickly. You can't go wrong with this unless you're trying to pack 15lbs on it at its maximum height and tilt it around. I'm sure it would tumble over then, but otherwise, no worries.

Stand works great, extends far taller than I would need and holds a light and umbrella quite well. With light falling faster, we've used this for more than photography, doing yard work at night with a silver reflector and a 300 Watt-equivalent CFL, and even on unstable ground, fully extended with an umbrella reaching nearly 8 foot above the ground, this stand will not tip.

Could it be better constructed? sure, but it's great for what it is.

If the product title would not say professional, I'll give it better rating, this is a casual or light duty stand. Mine came bend from shipping but I was able to straighten up. I will only use it with speedlights or reflector holders.

Delivery was quick. Opened the package, set it up. The rivet that holds the base to the extension poll was already broken. Had to remove the rivet and replace with a screw. Other than that you get what you pay for. Extend the poll and it is week and wobbly. Next time I will spend the money and buy a sturdy stand.
