Meta 2P Pawprint Accessory
The Meta Pawprint is a removable liner designed for the inside of your Meta two-person tent. Not only does it protect your tent floor from boots or paws--a must when camping in dusty or muddy conditions--but it also seriously boosts the comfort level. The Pawprint is made of a machine-washable, brushed polyester fabric that?s soft to the touch. Even better, the lining is extremely versatile, with a design that sits on top of your sleeping pads to keep them in place. Depending on the conditions, you might even be able to save some weight by packing a lighter sleeping bag or blanket, as the Pawprint will keep you comfortable and cozy. The liner weighs 14.5 ounces and packs easily.

So why only 3 stars? It's to bulky & heavy for backpackers (the people who use this tent). I was hoping the weight listed included included the packaging but it doesn't, so when ounces and grams matter... it's almost a pound. It also doesn't get very small, in fact it only compacts down to about an 8" x 4" sized tube, taking up a lot of backpack room.
The liner is designed for a light weight high-end backpackers tent that is so minimalistic, it forgoes poles... but then they added a heavy & bulky floor covering option, I just don't think the two products have good synergy.
It's actually a great lap blanket if you could pop the snaps off. It's also good for people who are car camping and the added bulk and heft would be less of a concern (but then why not bring a bigger, more comfortable tent too?). Also, if your lucky enough to have a new tent and your using your old $400 Meta 2 for the dog now... it would be useful for them as long as the dog carried it.
Lastly the price.. When I added it to my wish list it was $26 and I thought the price would drop and then I'd take a chance on it. At first the price jumped up to $50 and held there for a few months, then it plummeted down to $12. I paid the $12 and thought, "meh it's okay for that price". The fabric is nothing special and for about $8 you could make a inside liner yourself, complete with snaps. I can't imagine paying $50, that's just absurd!
There are lighter and more durable fabrics out there that would have made this worth the $50 option, sadly Nemo Equipment didn't use them here, which is odd.
