I have been using one of these for the past five years. I only use it during holiday season and it was getting really low however you can smell it from several feet away. I purchased another this season which I have not opened yet but I will be opening it the week of Christmas. These Nest fragrances are incredible. I love the Holiday and the Birchwood Pine. It wouldn't be Christmas without them.

This thing is packaged like freakin’ Fort Knox. I had to cut the box open in order to get the product out. Then, it’s a corked glass bottle. Very pretty! Except I can’t get the bottle top off. After removing the plastic collar, I’ve tried twisting, turning, yanking, pulling. Nothing is happening here. I have some arthritis, but not anything that prevents me from uncorking, say, a bottle of champagne. But, I would have to slam the thing against a brick to break it open, and then, what would be the point? It’s a very pretty bottle, though. An expensive, pretty bottle, and a once-beautiful, torn-up box, and some scentless black reeds. I was hoping for a working diffuser. Guess not. I won’t be buying any refills.

I am extremely sensitive to scents and smells. I have to get fragrance free dryer sheets and lotions and The Yankee Candle store is my own personal hell.

I had found a scent years ago, by Method, called Pink Grapefruit and it was perfect...until the company stopped making plug-ins. I have searched and searched for a tolerable room air freshener only to get one home and find that, yes it is a lovely fragrance, but it becomes overpowering and it's all I can taste and smell.

I took a gamble ordering the Nest scent reeds online without having smelled it. I am so delightfully surprised that it is almost identical to the Method brand. The grapefruit is a clean citrus scent that is subtle and not overwhelming. It is strongest in the room it is placed in, so I put it in the sitting room. The fragrance has traveled to the rest of the house in lighter notes that freshens without overtaking.

I like that the grapefruit scent isn't heavy or perfumey. I have not gotten a headache or become nauseated.

My diffuser arrived with the fragrance oil filled to the top. I didn't have any trouble with the packaging as some other people reported and there were no signs of leaks or other damage. The price I paid on Amazon was also significantly better than other stores that carry Nest in Canada like Nordstrom or Shoppers.

I was surprised by the people who said they could barely smell theirs. Maybe it depends on which scent you get, but I find the holiday one to be powerful. My place is around 650 sq ft and I can lightly smell the scent when I come in my front door when the diffuser is at the other end of the apartment in the living room and partially blocked by a wall.

The only negative review I agree with is you go through it really quickly. I got mine on the evening of November 21st and opened it straight away. Now on December 11th it's almost 1/2 gone. Given the price, I couldn't justify buying a new one every month just to keep the scent in my home. If you do want to buy it, you should just open it on special occasions before you have people come over or invest in the candles instead since they're slightly cheaper. Since I bought the holiday scent specifically for Christmas, I won't be too mad if the oil runs out by early January. It was a Christmas treat for myself. However, I can't see myself repurchasing this product on the regular given the short shelf life and high price tag.

Update- we gave this a weeks time to see if I’m fact it was the essential oil and yes it was. After day 2 of throat irritation, it spread to our lungs and we all started coughing. Interestingly as soon as you remove it, the irritation and the cough goes away. I personally also develop an itching rash when I touch the oil. Btw, the seller has not tried to contact us to help in anyway, to offer suggestions or help at all. Not cool. I’m going to return this oil.
I bought the rose and the smell is heavenly and very nostalgic for me but all of us my husband and 2 sons and daughter are all having throat irritation. We all thought we’re coming down with something all of us together which never happens but as soon as I put the cap on this our throat irritation was gone.

The smell has become incredibly weak after 45 days of usage.. nothing like the first day.. 3 stars.. i was expecting better quality at this price.
