I would caution about shoe size. The shoe chart recommended a half-size larger than my street shoes, but I found these to be hard on the toe nails, so from my second pair on I've bought a full size larger, which is very comfortable. I train in the Gravity's, and run half/full marathons in the Distance shoe (which is basically a lighter version of the Gravity). I tried training in the Distance shoes, but they didn't hold up as well as the Gravity's. (I get about 400 miles training in a pair of Gravity's.) Also, if you are a heel striker (which most distance runners are), then these shoes are not for you. They will be uncomfortable (because of the pronounced lugs) and may cause Achilles problems (because of the low heel-to-toe drop). (Newton does make shoes that are meant to transition runners from heel to mid-foot strikers, but I would think changing your running style would be difficult.)
My only complaint is the price. Newton shoes are very expensive and they must maintain good control over retailers because everyone sells them at list price (stores and online). The only deals I've been able to find are on last year's models, and they typically have only very small or very large sizes.
