From the Author

NIMA is a true extension of my influences, my childhood inspirations, and who I am as a person. Since I grew up an only child, I often found myself playing alone in my grandma's backyard. There, I spent my time creating worlds and stories and going on adventures with my imaginary friends. Once I was older, I knew I wanted to capture that same childlike energy and create a narrative art book. Although entirely original, NIMA pulls inspiration from my favorite anime, video games, and concept art books I grew up with. Each character is an extension of who I am or a person I know. Since I relied on many of my personal experiences to help shape this world , I feel that it's a true reflection of my life up to this moment.

About the Author

Ross loved creating worlds and characters as a child. He began pursuing art seriously at 16 and made the decision to move to Los Angeles after high school. Before graduating from ArtCenter College of Design with a degree in Industrial Design, he worked on his first feature film 'Earth to Echo' as a character designer and also launched his Youtube channel -- RossDraws! Since then, he has officially released his self-published artbook NIMA and is currently in the works of turning it into an animated series. His main mission is creating worlds, making people laugh and helping people discover their passions. He also loves his pet shiba inu Milo, but everyone knows that.

Ross Tran is an illustrator and concept artist. He loved making up characters and worlds as a kid, which is something that hasn't changed much over the years. He began pursuing art more seriously at 16 and moved from San Jose to Los Angeles a year later for a degree in Industrial Design.

By 19 he had worked on his first feature film, Earth to Echo, as a character designer. A while after, he took a break to try his hand at acting, only to find a home on YouTube with his channel RossDraws -- where he makes lots and lots of art.

He is currently working on expanding his studio and is planning to turn his first feature-length book NIMA into an animated series. The book is now available!

He also loves his dog Milo, but everyone knows that.
