I've read through the entire bible many times, but this is a very different experience. More of a narrative than a chopped up text book. It flows easily. I can imagine receiving these (each book) as an actual letter. Which is, of course, what so much of the New Testament is. While I believe there is still a need for bibles that have chapters and verses attached for reference purposes, this is a great option for a different understanding of His word.
I can't recommend this book enough. Get copies for those family members who are not followers of Christ...yet.
The idea of reading the Bible chronologically has always appealed to me. This carries the concept further by eliminating chapter and verse numbers, and presenting the text as it was written: as simple narrative and as correspondence. Simply reading the Bible should be a cathartic, transformational experience. Stripping away the acquired structures that serve as mile markers in our more traditional editions should help open our minds to the real scenery we should be experiencing along the journey.
I'll try to update this review after Easter. Meanwhile, we pray that God pours out even greater blessings to all who seek Him in spirit and in truth!
Will this be your ONLY Bible? Absolutely not. A person would hate this at church because you couldn't "turn to Mark 4:18," for instance. But that goes without saying. This is a wonderful readers Bible.
