We are reading this as a church and I was really looking forward to reading it. We have certain pages to read per day in the 8 weeks. I bought this on my Kindle and there are no page numbers. I am having a really hard time keeping up and actually wish it was easier to navigate on the Kindle.

What I liked most about this book was the order in which the material was presented and the brief preludes to each book of the Bible explaining where it came from and why it was presented in this order. What I liked least about the Kindle version is that it was difficult to use while discussing with my reading group because there was no way to cross-reference the print version, which most of the others in my group used. I spent alot of time flipping screens and bookmarking things, which made it difficult to keep up with the group on the discussions.

I would recommend this to anyone who wants to read the Bible in context. If you buy the Kindle version, I would also recommend having the print version handy. The print version has references in the margins that show you which Bible chapter and verses correspond to where you are at in the book. I also suggest having a good study Bible handy.

I am enjoyin the read of this Bible. It is grouped and recorded more in line with the order of events as they take place in the Bible and is more like reading a novel or story. There are pages at the beginning of each section that tell you where in the Bible it comes from but as you read there is not any actual book and chapter references on each page. I would like that as it would make it easier to cross reference. I would definitely buy this again.

The way this is laid out is in a style that I really enjoy. Reads like a novel. How many Bibles are out there? Many. How many are put in the proper chronological order? I know there are a few but if you struggle with keeping your interest alive in what you are reading this is the Bible for you. I love it. Our church is doing this as a whole reading by a schedule and then we discuss on Wednesday night and Sunday morning. We are all on the same page, so to speak, and this makes it even more enjoyable. You can thoroughly enjoy reading this by yourself but I think you will be encouraged to want to share it with others. I am thinking that if I was going to give a Bible to a seeker, this is the one I would choose.

Our entire church is going through this version of the New Testament together in small groups with accompanying sermons on the weekends. Over 3,500 copies sold just at our church so far. I LOVE reading this "version" of God's word. Reads really easily and gives a sweeping overview of every bit of the New Testament. There are so many verses and teachings I've never heard from the pulpit.

I've read through the entire bible many times, but this is a very different experience. More of a narrative than a chopped up text book. It flows easily. I can imagine receiving these (each book) as an actual letter. Which is, of course, what so much of the New Testament is. While I believe there is still a need for bibles that have chapters and verses attached for reference purposes, this is a great option for a different understanding of His word.

I can't recommend this book enough. Get copies for those family members who are not followers of Christ...yet.

Our church read through it in 8 weeks, including all ministries and groups. I approached the exercise with skepticism. While the NIV is not my preferred version, I decided to experience it with the rest of my church. What I discovered in the first few weeks was, that just how much of a distraction the verse and chapter breaks are. I had some of my favorite verses memorized and would quote them on occasion. When reading this version, without verse and chapter markings, some of my memorized verses were thrown back into context, and I had been using them to bolster my opinion...not necessarily the original thought or intent of the scripture.

Also, with the books presented in chronological order, instead of the canonized order, and printed more as a book, it flows more easily, like reading a really good book. It will never replace my study bible, but when I just need to spend some "quite time" reading, it is refreshing and pleasurable.

This is a very different easy way to read the Bible with clear understanding. It is not usable as a reference to look up specific passages. I don't recommend the e-book unless you need the accessibility features of a computer, such as large font. It is easier to find a specific book of the new testament if you have the hard copy.

I love this format of the Bible. The publisher has removed the chapter and verse markings. I did not realize how fragmented my Bible reading had become. I now naturally want to read whole books, which then leads me on to read THE whole book! It's really changed the way I get into God's Word, but more importantly, how God's Word is getting in to me! Highly recommended!
