Hard to believe since I came to the Lord when I was 20 years old. I should have done this a long, long time ago because it was fascinating and somewhat scary to read the Bible this way. I had also never read The Book of Revelations.
I am convicted and also encouraged to work out my salvation with fear and trembling, by faith, because I worship an awesome, mighty God, who deserves all the praise and glory.
I recommend this version of the Bible to anyone, like me, who has never been able to read the Bible from cover to cover. It is is tough at times and it takes commitment, but it is well worth the effort.
Its day by day approach to reading the Bible is refreshing and I find its usually one - two paragraph REFLECTION at the end of the day's reading to be thoughtful, insightful, refreshing, and very relevant to the topic read. Its has surprised me on many occasions to be very pertinent.
As stated this book is meant to be read in one year. So far I am on pace to finish it before this year is over. I started on January 3, 2015. This review is on February 15, 2015, and I am on Day 51, well ahead of schedule. I could only be on what Day 43, but it always keeps me wanting to read more. I find myself reading it first thing in the morning before work or sometimes it keeps me up late!
Being a NIV, it is an easy reader, but with all the heart and spirit of any Bible. I highly recommend it!
