After 2 years the on-off switch failed. After a pleasant call to Nix customer service, I sent it back for repair (my shipping cost, since it was out of warranty) and they repaired and shipped back to me at no cost (including a new accessory pack). EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE.
I sent an email to the company and will place a call today. If I receive effective help, I hope to come back to this review and share the good news.
Naturpic Video Converter: by far the easiest and fastest. It's free, does an excellent job with batch processing, and has a very simple interface for adjusting the settings. The settings that work and give the best possible resolution (at least that I've found so far):
AVI Xvid format .avi
Video Size: 720 x 576
Video quality: High
Audio Quality: Normal
Video bitrate: 1200k
Frame Rate(FPS): 25
Aspect Rate: Auto
BTW-Naturepic also rotates the video if you want.
Hope this helps!
Update 9-23-14: Won't play more than a dozen or so videos; continues to loop through the same videos over and over again. Their technical support has been "looking into it" for a few months now. Also, there is now an issue with the screen displaying boxes across the top. We've already invested too much time into this project to "investigate" this new issue. So, due to the fact that you have to invest hours to modify pictures and videos to play and these issues, I'm over it. We unplugged it and thew it in the tech pile. $140 wasted.
