I bought this tool to crimp just a few terminals on 0 gauge cables between the alternator and the battery in my truck. The low China made quality was obvious as soon as I pulled it out of the box. The casting quality is quite poor and the anvil was not centered in the V-groove. It is offset about 1/16-1/8" on the item I received. This is truly worth about half the price paid. It did work ok and completed the job it was purchased for, but if you plan to crimp more than 10-20 terminals, I highly recommend you purchase a better quality product.

I have used various crimping tools for years, at the race track, on the road and at home. I fulltime in a Truck Camper now and space is a premium! For a long time I would use expansion joints in concrete curbs and sidewalks, when a crimping tool was not available. Now for crimping cables for solar and other power options, the NOCO D800 Blue Hammer Indent Crimping Tool is an excellent tool to have and use. I look at things for what they are and don't compare them to something they are not. If you are looking for something like a hydraulic crimper, get that, as it does not provide that clean look. I look for something that works, functional and a small and inexpensive investment is part of the decision. Great addition to my tool box! (Keep your hands away from the lifting lever, too!)

How many years has the world been casting metal ??? here's another example of a country that should get it right. if your lucky the pin might line up on yours instead of off center like mine. the paint fills the holes in the casting with no quality control. why would you ruin a good tool with a crappy casting.

I read the reviews before purchasing, and since it was reasonably priced, I went ahead and purchased an "used" one. It didn't appear used at all. I used this to crimp 0 and 4 gauge cables, and it was a breeze. A few whacks with a hammer, some heat shrink, and it made a secure and neat connection for my sound system.

The lever worked perfectly, and with proper lubrication, this handy tool should last for a long time.

I shopped a couple of these and had received ones that had huge mis alignment issues between the V and the anvil. Requested that this be verified correct before it was shipped or would return it as defective. They did so and things are all good. Appreciate your work on the customers behalf.

It is cheap but good, does what it is supposed to do. The first time you use it you may want to use it on a test piece of the same wire and connector you intend to crimp. That way your finished piece will be most awesome as somebody with your skills would be expected to do.

I need this for crimping battery cable not for conducting brain surgery. solid cast iron pieces. I can run it over with my work van and it will still work. mine came in bright blue. don't expect this to be a precision tool; the word "hammer" in the title should be a dead giveaway

Worked Just as I needed it to. I'm sure its not as graceful as the big plier version of the big crimpers, but its 1/5 the cost. If I was crimping big wires daily or weekly I'd might invest in something like that, but for the weekend warrior who is occasionally going to need to make their own battery cable this works excellent.
