The GB40 is a portable, lightweight, and compact lithium-ion car battery charger jump starter pack for 12-volt batteries. With it, you can safely jump start a dead battery in seconds - up to 20 times on a single charge. It's a mistake-proof battery jumper starter and battery booster pack, making it safe for anyone to use, and it features spark-proof technology and reverse polarity protection. The GB40 is a battery jump pack with an integrated high-output 100-lumen LED flashlight with seven light modes - low, medium, high, flashing, strobe, and emergency SOS. It holds its charge for up to one year without being recharged. An internal battery pack can recharge any personal mobile device, like smartphones, tablets, or other USB devices, or be recharged by any powered USB port. It's rated at 1,000-amps and suitable for gasoline engines up to 6.0-liters and diesel engines up to 3.0-liters, such as cars, automobiles, motorcycles, ATVs, boats, trucks, RVs, SUVs, lawnmowers, and more.

    I was skeptical when I first ordered this rechargeable jump starter. I did not think it would do the trick but I figured I’d try it and if it didn’t work then I could write a bad review and return it. Well I’m here to tell you that this thing totally worked for my situation. Small Neighbor Child Jimmy: Hey Mister! What was your situation?! Ah I’m glad you asked Jimmy! Well you see I am the proud owner of an older 2001 Lexus LS 430 4D Sedan. What a beaut right? Well this beaut decides to drain her battery slowly when I’m away from her, so occasionally if I’m away for to long she needs a little shock to get her in the mood to start up for me. So she isn’t completely drained by the time I get to her. So unfortunately I can’t give a consumer experience for a completely drained battery. The NOCO Boost Plus 1000A 12V did the trick for me. I rate it at 4-stars for a specific reason and this is something I hope everyone reads before purchasing. The device comes with everything you need out of box except for a power adapter to safely charge it. After reading the safety manual (which I always do because yes I’m that type of person, in case you couldn’t tell when I was capitalizing on referring to my car as a “her”), they explicitly tell you to charge it with a properly rated 5W or 10W adapter. The fact that the power adapter is USB-C I was lucky that I could find one tucked away because I typically use USB-A incorporated in my outlets. So minus a star because if I buy a product I’d like it to come with everything I need for it in the the box. Thanks for reading! Hope this helps you decide on whether you should get it or not. I appreciate NOCO for their quality. I just got the product and will update my review if it decides to act up.

      This thing is amazing. I can't believe I hesitated to buy this product. Here is my story:

      This past Sunday I woke up to my 2014 BMW X5's flat battery. There was a cold snap and within a couple of days my battery was dead. The last time it was functional was Friday night. I called my auto shop on Monday and due to pretty much everyone in the area having dead batteries due to the cold snap, I couldn't get an appointment for a week. I didn't know if I should jump it, or call roadside assistance and drive it around to make sure the battery was fine before next Monday. Instead, I took a chance on this wonderful device.

      It came yesterday and I was already impressed with just the packaging. It's minimal, sturdy, and accurate. Straight to the point packaging. I opened it up, and started charging the remaining battery. Apparently, it comes 75% charged and you have to do the rest. I used a USB-C cable from my computer and charged it full within minutes.

      By the way, the USB slots on this device are USB-C. I've seen a few reviews say that it's MicroUSB. The one I purchased is USB-C which was another plus since you can use this to charge your phone.

      Fast forward to this morning. I let my car sit for another day, which I thought may have been a mistake. I went down to try to use this device to re-awaken my beast... his name is Benny. Benny the Beemer. Anyway...

      I attached the positive and negative clamps to the posts under my hood. For most BMW owners, those posts are connected directly to the battery which (in)conveniently is in the trunk behind a electrical trunk latch. BMW did a solid adding these posts under the hood so you didn't have to mess with the trunk release.

      I turned the device on and the light appeared, but the LED's for Boost weren't "chasing" as the manual says. I figured my battery was completely deceased and I would have to call for RA or a tow. I checked the manual again and I missed the spot called "Manual Override".

      Now, as a sci-fi geek, this intrigued me greatly. Manual Override you say? Yes, if your car has a completely flat battery, so flat that the device cannot detect that it's even connected to a battery, it will not function within the safety limits. Meaning the device doesn't know it's connected to a battery so it will not provide the 2A charge for safety reasons.

      That's what the Manual Override button is for. I love it. As soon as I pushed that button, the car came to life. It was like Frankenstein's monster. Everything negative turned positive (NPI).

      See, the Manual Override sends the 2A charge without verifying it's connected to a battery. This lifts the dead battery to at least 2A so you can try and start the car. The car came to life, the alarm started blaring so I jumped into the drivers seat, said a split second prayer to the car gods, and VROOOM! Benny was alive.

      This device is amazing. I will be buying one for everyone in my family. Everyone should have this device in their car.

      If it can bring back my 2.5T 11 year old 3.0L twin turbo beast, it can bring backs yours as well.

      This device can handle anything up to 6.0L for gas and 3.0L for diesel.

      Buy this now, especially if you live in colder climates.

      I found out about this product several years back from a tow truck driver. I had called him to tow my car to a local mechanic's shop because I just couldn't get the engine to turn over. This poor lady had been stuck in the parking lot all afternoon, and I was able to help her get her car started before the ice I just bought had time to begin melting. Seriously, 5 minutes tops.

      This thing is a total game changer. It's a great product. It will pay for itself the first time you have to use it. It will literally bring joy to strangers. Buy it, charge it, throw it in the trunk, and check it every few months. You will never be stranded due to battery problems again.

      Although this is the smallest of the range of jump starter power packs (GB40 1000amps) I found it to be extremely effective.
