About this item: Unique like a kaleidoscope, this Talavera design is by Pedro Alba in Mexico. A colorful flower takes the center, its petals reaching toward the scalloped border of this serving plate. Alba continues to use the hand-crafting process of Talavera ceramics that was brought to Mexico in the 16th century. Talavera is a type of majolica ceramics distinguished by the use of cobalt blue over an off-white background.

'I've taken quite a few ceramic courses around the country and my technique is completely handcrafted. Over the years my workshop has grown to such an extent that I can now offer work to people in my community.'...
