You have to really rub long and firmly and be patient- everything will come out eventually (except perhaps for the deepest little part of a scratch sometimes- it leaves like pinpricks which you just can't get out no matter how patient you are!) You don't need to be Picasso either- you just rub nice and evenly with a microfiber towel like the directions on each bottle state. As it starts to dry, turn the towel and buff using lighter and lighter strokes. Easy.
Just be careful that the object you intend t polish isn't painted before you begin- the Novus rubs off paint unevenly, leaving you with a mess.
This kit is an incredible value- three 8-ounce bottles of stuff for 10 bux! It will last me years, probably until it dries up. The cleaner spray is really good- it disappears all the polish residue very effectively. None of the components seem to have any odor at all.
My only complaint is that the polishing towels that come along with this product are not enough. I recommend using a microfiber towel or cloth instead to save money since they are reusable.
Overall I give this 4/5 stars and I would highly recommend this to anyone!
I started with the number 3 and applied it like the instructions recommended and going back and forth in small sections of the windscreen. I had to apply it at twice, and then buffed it clean. Next I went to the number 2 and also followed the instructions first back and forth than small circular motions, applying it also twice in small sections. Finally, I used the number 1 and also followed the instructions and the small scratches were gone and the windscreen was clear.
Don’t get discouraged when you don’t see results after apply number 3 or when the scratches are worse than what you started, just continue to follow the process and the scratches will be gone. Be patient and remember you may have to apply more than once. One other tip for BMW windscreen, when apply number 3 it removed a layer which was making it create the halo, happy it’s gone and wish I had done this years ago. I also used three different cotton clothes for the three different applications as recommended. If you have any questions let me know.
I will upload pictures soon
Someone mentioned here that the fine polishing compound #2 was the only one worth using and to skip #3 for heavy scratches. I agree. Also I found using an old t-shirt worked 100% better then a micro cloth. I was able to rub out 99% of the fine scratches and minimize the larger ones.
Definitely turned out excellent. It saved me from having to order a new pickguard and removing the damaged one. Another very important thing is to apply very little pressure and let the polish do the job. To much pressure and you will create more fine lines.
