Product Description

Size: 2.2 Pounds

Creatine Monohydrate is a naturally occurring compound found in the human body and obtained in the diet primarily from meat and fish. Creatine is a popular supplement among active individuals because of its ability to serve as an energy reservoir, especially during intense physical exertion. During short, intense bursts of activity, the body breaks down adenosine triphosphate (ATP) into adenosine diphosphate (ADP) and phosphate for energy. Creatine helps the body convert ADP back to ATP, providing greater amounts of ATP for energy, which may increase short-term endurance and strength. Creatine can also be stored for later use by cells, creating the "energy reservoir" active individuals desire.* NOW® Creatine Monohydrate is 100% pure and contains no additives or preservatives. Creatine may be especially useful for those doing short-term, intense exercise, such as weight lifting, football, basketball, swimming, skiing and cycling.

***I highly suggest not using this product.*** This was my third time buying the product. The first two times it was of quality and worked great, I didn't notice if those first bottles were made in the USA or not, but it was a good product nonetheless. This last time I ordered it had a taste. Everyone knows that Creatine Monohydrade should not have a taste. I can only describe it as an industrial taste, like metal or machinery, I should have known right away. I have been having issues with oversleeping and my workouts have not been very good, constant soreness in my legs and feet, in fact I haven't been able to work out in a week. After two weeks of use of the "China" product, I have immediately stopped using the product. Very glad I read the other reviews. I recommend that Amazon put a block on this product until the problem is sorted due to safety issues because this product is ingested. Lot # 1785319 2133

I have used creatine many times before from different brands, but I have never encountered a strange smell with them until Now Sports Creatine. Normally creatine does not have a smell at all, but when I opened the bottle it had a strange chemical smell to it. I figured it was probably just residual smell of the plastic or something since Now has been a reputable company that follows GMP. So I went ahead and used the product. Each time I use it I get a kind of ache in my lower back and I can't sleep, one time is coincidence, but when I can repeat the same results each time I take it leads me to believe it is definitely this product. I tried to contact Now and inquire about it, possibly get an explanation. They have not replied. I don't give out one stars lightly, but I feel the bad quality control and the bad customer service combined deserve a one star. I recently received Jarrow Creatine, which comes from Creapure, and it smells like absolutely nothing, just as it should.

The description states that the origin of this product is the USA. It is clearly marked on the package that it is manufactured in China. I have been using this product for a while (the USA stuff) and I noticed a difference in the consistency when I opened the Chinese version. I don't know if it is OK, but the lack of regulation for supplements is enough to make me shy away from ingesting anything with a dubious origin.

NOW Foods has outsourced this to China. No longer made in the US. I was surprised as I had associated NOW with quality. There are other quality Creatine powders on Amazon that are made in the US.

I've used NOW Foods Creatine Monohydrate for many years and was always happy with the product and results. This last container from amazon is different. The first thing I noticed was it had a strong chemical smell. 100% Creatine should have no smell, or taste. I tried tasting it and the taste is just not right. Not to mention it's extremely hard to get it to dissolve. The worse part is the stomach pain I experienced from ingesting it for only two days. Now that it's manufactured in China, I will have to change over to a better USA brand. NOW Foods has lost a loyal customer.

The Creatine has been more or less a staple of my weight lifting supplement routine for years. It has been one of the few things that I truly feel has been effective and not just a fad or the product of some suggestive 'research' with little science behind it. Plus this formula does not contain any wheat or other additives.

Beyond Creatine, if you are really serious about actually adding muscle, I would suggest: Citrulline Malate 200 Grams Powder + Free Beta Alanine 200 Grams. This is a great amino acid that helps your body to put itself into the best possible state for building muscles. This helps to improve your natural testosterone levels and will help you to add lean muscle mass with the right diet and training. Honestly, I have never found anything else that is quite this effective outside of illegal substances.

Been taking this product and my stength and endurance have increased substantially. I'm a vegetarian so I don't get any creatine from meat sources. After reading journals and studies online it appears to be advisable for vegetarians to supplement with creatine, especially those that are physically active and/or who are athletes. Perhaps my gains were more dramatic due to not getting any creatine from flesh/meat sources. I have also noticed significant gains with other vegetarians I personally know.

Be sure to drink lots and lots of water throughout the day while taking this product.

I take my dose in the morning and I can dissolve it completely in warm tap water. Oddly, it seems to take about twenty-four ounces of water to do this. I notice that when I try to dissolve it in eight ounces or less (even if the water is very warm) I still see the powdery granules floating around in the water. Many sources assert that it should be completely dissolved and I can only do this with warm water as opposed to tepid or cold. The water doesn't need to be as hot as when making coffee/tea but just very warm to the touch.

Some sources online claim that creatine is made from remnants of animal products while others claim they make their product in a lab. I was very confused before buying this product. However, this brand asserts that it's a vegan product on the front label so it appears to fall inline with my dietary choices.
