Very pleasant smell, may or may not repel termites

So the atlas cedar is not like wood shavings type smell, but a sweeter more perfume like cedar smell, it’s very pleasant! If your looking to replicate the wood chips/animal bedding scent your not going to find an essential oil that does that perfectly, you need actual wood+resin+raw natural tree oils+ heat generated from cutting wood planks almost burns it a little adding it’s own scent to the mix, making replicating it exactly near impossible. Some come very close, this particular essential oil is more sweet smelling, less resiny than an actual cedar plank you’d put in your closet to deter bugs.
It does seem to help keep swarming termites from flying in from my front door at bay when I run this oil in my diffuser- but I still get a few coming in, just not as many…. And it’s more practical than having cedar planks and chips around my apartment in every nook and cranny. I add a little to furniture oil too to help deter any from wanting to eat my vintage MCM wood furniture as maintenance after I initially treated all my unfinished wood (inside surfaces of furniture) with Tim-Bor…. So far so good!
if detouring bugs isn’t what you want this for, it’s a very pleasant smell! Would certainly add a nice woodsy smell to soaps or other handmade things, it isn’t too masculine a smell on its own either, I definitely recommend giving it a try! Scent is pretty potent, definitely more potent (and nicer smelling) than the teak wood essential oil I also have. The smell hangs around for a few days when I add drops around my home, and smells very natural and outdoorsy to me (though a bit sweeter than like being in a real pine forest) and the smell is not to “manufactured” like some essential oils can be. Its also a good value for $, as a lot are sold for a similar price in bottles 1/3 the size!

I can't say that I'm crazy about the Geranium scent (which is just personal preference), but I add a few drops to my body lotion every morning and I notice my skin is getting softer. I think I'm liking the scent more than I did at first, so now I want to start diffusing it also! Anyways, I love the NOW Solutions brand and use not only their essential oils, but also their carrier oils and vitamins/supplements.

I have used NOW brand oils for years & they are by far my favorite!! I purchased this ginger one to make lymph node poultices with. It did not smell like any ginger I've smelled before. It smells like wild sunflowers which tends to give me a headache. It did however do a great job on my swollen tender lymph nodes. To help combat the unpleasant odor I used my NOW peppermint oil which helped. I still recommend this oil for it's usefulness with a warning to those sensitive to the scent of wild sunflowers.

NOW Foods consistently delivers great products and their Ginger Oil is an ongoing example of the top quality they deliver. The Ginger Oil has a robust and savory smell as it should considering it is highly concentrated (100% pure). That being said, anyone who uses the product needs to keep in mind that a pure concentrate needs to be diluted before use otherwise you may end up with some not so friendly and/or overpowering results.
Now, I am fairly new to the world or aromatherapy and as such I have not used the Ginger Oil extensively or in more complex recipes. I have used a few dozen various oils in baths, foot baths, skin applications, hair oils, massage oils, and plain old room fragrances and I used the Ginger Oil much in the same fashion. A aromatherapy friend/mentor of mine had told me about the benefits of Ginger Oil and how it can be used to reduce nausea, flu-like symptoms, indigestion, and can even be used to reduce anxiety in some cases so I decided to try the Ginger Oil. My first use was diluting the Ginger in almond oil and spreading the application on my fiance's stomach during one of her common bouts with indigestion. My fiance, who is not "sold" on the benefits aromatherapy, said that she did feel a little better after applying the application however she couldn't tell if it was due to the oil or the elapsed time and the body naturally handling its own business. So, not being able to truly tell if the Ginger Oil was as beneficial as it had been suggested to me, I used the product in a few different hair oils strictly for the scent and I yielded what I thought to be great results. After that I was able to make a massage oil (using the Ginger Oil) for a few friends of mine and they all told me that they felt the calming and stabilizing effects of the Ginger. However, I was finally able to use the oil myself when I came down with a nasty flu and I was delightfully surprised at how helpful the oil proved to be. The first couple days of the flu left me with aches and pains in my back and legs and I took several hot baths with a few drops of the Ginger Oil added to them. The baths felt great and I felt what I believed to be the Ginger Oil help soothe away the aches and pains quicker than usual. Then, as my flu hit the high point on day 3 and left my stomach in a pile of knots I diluted the Ginger Oil into a skin oil and rubbed the mixture on my stomach. Again, I felt what I believed to be the Ginger Oil working some magic and relinquishing my stomach from the pains and allowing me to actually eat and drink without the nausea and vomiting. So, after finally being able to test the Ginger Oil myself I believe that it is a great product and its uses and results are spot on. I would definitely recommend the NOW Foods Ginger Oil to anyone who dabbles in aromatherapy and I would only recommend the NOW Foods brand because as I said at the beginning, they are simply a top of the line manufacturer.

This product smells wonderful.
I was worried it would be too overpowering based on other reviews, however, this is not the case for me.
I use one drop in carrier oil when treating a person’s neck, in my massage therapy practice.
I liked it so much, I applied it to myself (with carrier oil) and was surprised it faded on my skin and clothing a couple hours later.
For me, that’s a plus.

Extremely strong, only need a drop for anything, lasts forever. Good quality. Gross if you grab it thinking it's a different weaker oil and use many drops (over powering). I've done that a few times mistaking it for the same brand of Frankincense or Jasmine oil to put on neck or face. All three are awesome, I just have to keep the geranium oil separate to avoid that horrible mistake. Great for adding to bath water a drop or two.
