I prefer these nipples over any other because they train my grand baby to move her tongue from front to back across the hard palate. The slow flow makes her work a bit harder which is very good for her tongue strengthening. Ultimately it will help with the shape of her hard palate as well as the clarity of her speech. With other nipples, I noticed that our baby was pushing her tongue forward to slow the flow of the milk. That was not what we wanted. My daughter-in-law has been very happy with my suggestion.

These have been the best bottles for my daughter. She is breastfed the majority of the time and had a hard time adjusting to the bottle. We tried at least three other bottles before finding this one. The nipples on these bottles were perfect, and she took it right away. We've had no trouble with leaking. They wash well in the dishwasher.

i bought these bottles because i was told there are better if you are combining both breastfeeding and bottle feeding. the nipple is supposed to be more similar to a woman's nipple than other bottles but when you shake the formula it spills all over. turns out the cap has 2 holes so you get and completely soaked in formula and the exterior of the nipple gets so wet that it drips onto the baby's face as well. not good!

I bought this bottle set mainly for the orthodontic wide-based nipple system. The air vents seem to require a large vacuum pressure to build up before they vent, requiring the baby to suck very hard while getting very little. Half an ounce took 15-20 minutes. The silicone nipples also performed variably (I don't know if it had to do with the temperature of the milk or the coordination state of the baby). Sometimes she would be frustrated at the slow flow, sometimes she'd be gulping and choking on the flow (using the same nipple on different occasions). The bottle itself also has 2 rims on which milk catches and doesn't get into the nipple at the end of feeding (translating into wasted expressed breast milk) - one in the shoulder of the bottle itself and the second on the rim of the nipple ring. If the bottle could be straight sided all the way to the top, it would at least eliminate one catching trap for the milk (NUK might want to redesign).

We searched high and low for a bottle my daughter would take and this was it. They are nice shape and design and very affordable as far as bottles go. My one issue would be that the ring and nipple are not very dishwasher friendly due to shape/grooves but I just do those by hand and it's quick.
