Head-Fi Review:

NVX XPT100: Perfect 10 Studio Over-Ear Headphones
When we designed our Perfect10 Studio Over-Ear Headphones, we found that most manufacturers design their headphones like a fashion accessory, while comfort, functionality, & quality are often neglected. Our XPT100 headphones look great, but they sound and feel even better. The rich, full sound is produced by a pair of robust 42mm drivers, perfectly tuned to deliver exquisite tonality across a broad frequency range. Oversized leather earcups make these the most comfortable headphones we’ve ever used. The 64 ohm impedance makes the Perfect10’s perfectly compatible with iPods & MP3 players, and allows them to thrive with a headphone amplifier or other high-powered source. Pick up a pair, and you’ll know why we called them the Perfect10!

Unfortunately, I have not yet used these on an audiophile-grade USB DAC & Amp, so I have paired these cans up on simpler equipment (Desktop onboard audio, Late 2012 MacBook Pro Retina, Nexus 6P, Pixel C, iPad Air, etc.). The only equipment that I have that can drive these to their maximum would be the M-Audio Fast Track Pro audio interface, and I did spend some time with it.
SOUND:
My initial impressions left me unsure of whether these were more neutral compared to the HD 280's. I'm honestly still not sure, as I haven't sat down for a long period of time doing A/B tests on each pair. But there was definitely a lot more clarity in the mids and highs, and at some higher volumes, the bass was nice and punchy--not that the HD 280's are not punchy in the bass. These cans really shine in the mids and highs compared to the HD 280's--and that's something that you might not always want.
Hooked up to my Roland TD-9K2 electric drumset, these cans were disappointing in comparison to the HD 280's. The snare, the cymbals, just about everything sounded more tinny. Despite being advertised as such, these cans probably aren't always suitable as reference monitors--at least not for monitoring electric drums. That being said, for mixing, these cans showed more detail in the areas where the HD 280's were more subdued.
Listening to music through these headphones via previously mentioned devices, I definitely like the sound signature. Even though these have 64 ohm impedance like the HD 280 Pro's, the XPT100's were quieter of the two. Of course, I don't push my headphones very loud to prevent hearing loss, but I have had to push 100% volume on my Nexus 6P (which doesn't really have a great DAC/amp) where I haven't had to do that on the HD 280's.
COMFORT:
The good news about the XPT100's is that these are quite comfortable headphones. The ear cups are spacious, the earpads are very comfortable, and the clamping force isn't unbearable--but it is there to ensure sound isolation. But the bad news is that the headband is only good--not great, so you may experience discomfort on the soft spots on your head.
BUILD QUALITY:
These headphones don't have a build quality to brag about. Rather, they focus on the sound quality more than the durability. The HD 280's are definitely more durable compared to these and are more portable, as well.
CONCLUSION:
If you're looking for a comfortable headphone with a detailed sound in the mids and highs, these are going to be tough to beat for the price. While they do have a few setbacks, I would recommend these cans over many others in the price range. That being said, I cannot say whether or not these are as neutral as everybody says they are. But I can say I have enjoyed these headphones as much as I've enjoyed my HD 280's--albeit for different applications.

The leather-memory foam pads are exceptionally comfortable, but get warm over a period of time. A nice feature of these headphones is that they come with one 1.2m cable and another 3m cable. This gives the option of using these headphones on-the-go, easily. Overall, this is a good deal, even at the 100 USD I paid for these.
However, one of the extra angled pads that came with the headphones was deformed and very uncomfortable. This really bothered me, since the extra set of pads was one of the reasons I even bought these headphones. I looked this issue up, and found out that other people are familiar with the pads being made incorrectly. Looking at the NVX website, I'm not even going to bother trying to contact their customer support. I'm just going to return these headphones, which is going to cost me 7 dollars because of the non-prime fulfilled vendor. I guess I can't really complain about the shipping cost, since I knew what I was getting into. But I expected everything to be smooth from the rave reviews I've read about these.
The picture of the deformed angle pad being compared to the normal one should be attached.

The pads are underwhelming. They do the job but you're better off with the HM5 pads, which use a thicker and firmer feeling foam. Sadly that adds 20-30 dollars to these. The velour hybrid HM5 pads significantly improve the sound in my opinion. Separation seems stronger, background details seem clearer, and the bass seems tightened up just a little bit, like the graphics on level 3. A little extra distance from the drivers to your ears seems to make a big difference. That's not to say they sound bad stock, but the HM5 pads seem to bring them up to another level. Seems, seem, seems, seems, seem. Five seems.
These were played through an ODAC/Objective2 combo. They're clear, but boring. Which is actually what I was hoping for when I bought them, as I was seeking something closer to a flat reference level for listening. These mostly succeed but they're a tad too bright to call neutral. Maybe that's a sign that they are indeed neutral? I don't know. I'm not an expert. On a song-by-song basis, I don't find them fatiguing, but if I had a high focused playlist I probably would after a while. But that is just me and well within the range of personal preference. They will not blow your eardrums out with booming bass, but the lows are there and appreciable, along with the mids.
All in all, I'd rate them 4/5 on sound with stock pads, 5/5 with Velour Hybrid HM5 pads, assuming you are looking for business, not fun. 4/5 on comfort but only with the BrainWavz HM5 pads, 3/5 otherwise. 3/5 on build quality only because they have handled eight months of mild abuse at my hands without being any worse for wear. The headband extension issue is disappointing and my only real problem with these.
