Great creamy concealer for the price!

NYX makes GREAT concealer, especially for the price. It has a perfectly creamy consistency with buildable medium coverage. It's not watery nor is it thick. I use it to cover darkness under my eyes and any redness/spots on my face. When using this concealer, I don't feel the need to wear additional foundation. Just a little powder on top, and I'm good to go. I currently own 5 shades and I've gone through multiple tubes of each shade since I discovered this concealer a few years ago.

I'll start with the shade selection, because I'm sure that's why a lot of people are reading the reviews. I have a cool skin tone and I have found 4 of the shades that I can make work for me whether I'm pale or have a tan. In my opinion, this is the breakdown of what tone each concealer is : 01 porcelain and 02 fair are neutral tones. 03 light and 05 medium are peachy cool tones. 04 beige is a warm yellow tone and 06 glow is a warm orange tone. I haven't tried the darker ones. I posted pictures of the shades I currently have plus swatches just to help out anyone who is struggling to pick a color. Keep in mind I really globbed the concealer on the paper for those swatches, but in real life the shades look much lighter once they are blended out.

For the eyes, I put 3 or 4 dots of concealer a shade lighter than my skin tone, pat it around with a clean fingertip and let it dry halfway. At this point it will look cakey/not blended at all, this is fine. Once it's halfway dry, I then use a damp beauty sponge and blend it out the rest of the way. I get much better, smoother coverage when I use this technique. If you try to blend it out when it's still fully wet, you'll wipe away all the coverage. If you don't blend at all, you'll end up cakey. It's also a good idea to use a setting powder on top so it doesn't crease.

For redness, I like to use a shade that is either my exact skin tone or a tad darker in combination with the green color corrector. The green seriously makes such a big difference! I mix the two shades on the back of my hand – a dab of skin tone plus the tiniest little dot of green. It will look ghostly on your hand, but once it's over top of the redness, it neutralizes it perfectly. Again, I like to let it dry a little bit before I try to do any blending.

I have normal/dry skin and I'm able to get through half the day with this concealer still looking good. It does crease and wear off a bit, but it doesn't get as gross as other brands I've tried. This probably also largely depends on whether you are oil/normal/dry and what the weather is like that day though.

The only con to this product is the label wears off and I think their shade selection isn't wide enough to suit every skin tone. Overall, I would definitely recommend this concealer to anyone.

Love it! I've tried so hard & so long to find a concealer that would go great with my skin tone. I'm Mexican-American! & many people think I'm actually Indian or maybe Arabic. Bc I have dark black hair & eyebrows.. I have dark marks from pimples I had a couple years ago, & the green Nyx concealer works amazing with it!!!! People tell me all the time I have flawless skin! But I really don't! Haha. It's just concealer mostly (green) light layer of black opal foundation, & nyx's setting powder in med-dark.. I don't have a problem with acne, now.. But I did when I was younger! & I always pick at it. So now I am left to suffer with dark marks!! :( however this product honestly covers better then many many other items I have tried & it's cheap!! I've tried loreal, cover girl, & Sonia kashuk nothing works as great as this product! I put this on my nose, bc I have dark mark from a pimple that is very dark, along my chin, jawline & cheeks.. I let it sit, while I do my eyebrows.. Then come back & finish doing my foundation, I let the concealer on my nose sit the longest & add an extra layer just to make sure it's really covered. This product also lasts a good 8-10 hours which is a whole working/school day for me.. & it's not thick! Very bendable & like I said great coverage for a great price. I have some pictures attached to show you what my makeup looks indoor, outdoors & in natural light. No I did not edit this pictures, just took them with my iPhone 6 camera! But I honestly do love the coverage!!! People compliment my skin alllllll the time! I just say "if u only knew!!" Haha :) but this is definitely a product that I will keep buying! Bc it does good with coverage!! & that's what I love! Really happy I have found something that I can use. So far I've only used the green one, but I may try the purple the brighten under the eyes & maybe a dark color to contour with..

This is my third purchase of this item. Really can't do without it. You can swipe it on or you can dabble it on as needed in red areas of the face before applying foundation. I use it mostly on my cheeks and in the forehead area because it covers up any blemishes and rosacea. Once you blend it with your skin tones concealer and applyfoundation/powder over top of it you cannot tell the difference, your face does not look green so there's no need to worry about that.

I would say this product is good for almost everyone because I have rosacea and very sensitive skin that is porcelain in color. I would recommend this brand and product for any age group or any skin type.

I have several shades of these concealers and am mostly pleased. I did notice thought that between buying this in 2014 and repurchasing recently now in 2017, the colors have changed a bit. They're quite a bit darker than they used to be so possibly go one shade lighter or check out swatches in stores.

As for the formula, it's a thin yet dry formula. It can look a bit cakey under the eyes so I use this as a blemish concealer. Using the skin toned colors alone WITHOUT foundation will give you light-medium coverage depending on how pigmented your spots are or dark circles are. I have two of the color correcting shades. Green helps a bit with the spots. But yellow is great at concealing the darkness under my eyes. If you apply it lightly, you can even use the yellow one alone but the green definitely needs to be covered with a foundation.

I'm extremely pale and have the WORST time finding concealer that works with my skin tone. This is great!!! Matches my skin very well, though I recommend blending Very thoroughly, else it looks a bit patchy in harsh lighting. I combine it with CC+ foundation from IT cosmetics in fair (I believe that's what the lightest shade is called) and loose powder by NYC in translucent OR mineralize loose foundation by MAC in extra light, and they all blend really well together. Will definitely purchase again once this runs out.
