5 FLAMES for Naked!
Raine Miller delivers a seductive and masterful chase of erotic exchanges between her beautifully flawed characters.

Naked is fast paced, sexy and a clever piece of writing.
~Totally Booked
How the story plays out, the way characters are portrayed and the skill of the author's writing, is what differentiates books and sets them apart. This one shoots straight to the top!!
~Swept Away by Romance
Raine Miller does an amazing job of building the sexual chemistry in the lead up to Ethan and Brynne's first sexual encounter - it's sizzling hot and sure doesn't disappoint!!

I will probably have people throwing stuff at me or hating my comment because they love 50...but doggone it, Naked seriously put that book to shame. This book does not have any repetive scenes and the directive taken with Raine Miller with her characters is amazing. There was no room for doubt on how each character looked, felt...drove me insane with desire (I'm talking about Ethan Blackstone of course). Brynne is not a weakling by any means. Though she has a troubled past, she is strong and has a backbone. I love that as I hate weak females in romance novels. Ethan is demanding and a little overbearing but it works for him. I liked it..a lot. I cannot wait for the next installment to this series. This author really rose above and beyond her other books, and I truly loved the historical romances.

Again, Raine...once again you blew me away! I scared my poor children screaming at my Kindle because I am dying for more. Dying, Raine!!!

Get this book, fall in love with Ethan and thank me later when you agree it is fantastic! I will leave this review with one final statement... Christian who?

You know how when you take a picture of a picture, the quality diminishes? The same is true with stories. When you start with an already flawed book, (Fifty Shades of Grey: Book One of the Fifty Shades Trilogy) and your goal is merely to copy instead of transcend, then you're going to end up with a pile of poo.

Naked (The Blackstone Affair, Part 1) is a hollow, shallow, formulaic repeat of the FSOG and Bared to You: A Crossfire Novel juggernauts. Where those two stories were flawed, but thrilling and captivating, Naked is simply mechanical. Even the "hot" scenes, while filled with the same lurid and explicit language, felt flat and routine. The love interest, Ethan, was basically a cardboard cutout that growled, screwed, and said "you're mine" repeatedly. The protagonist, Brynne, somehow had even less personality than Ana/Bella from FSOG/Twilight. If you thought that wasn't possible, allowed me to share a few points:

1. Brynne's only friends are a distant, rarely heard from roommate and a caricature of a gay man, whose only role in life is apparently to fawn over Brynne and take her naked portraits. He's basically her handmaiden with a penis.

2. Within one WEEK, Brynne has moved in with Ethan, professed that she belongs to him, and agreed to be chauffered by his private driver. She does this with minimal obligatory hand-wringing, insisting that it's because she "feels safe" with him. Which brings us to:

3. The DARK SHADOWY PAST.

Yeah exactly, UM WOW!!! Well first of all Raine Miller has made a jump from historical romance to contemporary and what a nice jump she made. I read this book in one sitting. I just could not put it down and then when it ended I kept trying to turn the page, saying to myself "NO it can't be done yet I want more". Ethan Blackstone had me drooling from the start. Brynne is an amazingly strong character, loved her independence and I want to know her secrets. Ms. Miller wove a VERY ENTICING Part 1 and now I am on pins and needles waiting for Part 2.

LOVE THIS BOOK!!!! Bought this book a while ago should have reviewed earlier! It is one of the book that stays on my ipad for days when I want to re-read a old favourites.... like Fifty Shades, the Crossfire Series - Sylvia Day, Rock Chick Regret/Knight - Kirsten Ashley. YES... Raine Miller and NAKED fits right in here!
RM is able to create depth with both Ethan and Brynne as individuals and as a couple very quickly. This Novella is HOT! So look out significant others!
LOVED the ending...... even though it is causing me pain to wait for ALL IN.
Well Done Raine!

Well I missed the bit in the product description where it says this is only part of a book (not the first book in a series). Sort of like watching one of those old time TV shows where each show is an episode. I just did not like the characters enough to purchase the next episode. This is a great case for putting the whole series together when marketing it as the first book just stops at a fairly predictable point (no cliff hangers here). The reviews I read before purchasing the book made it sound like a BDSM sort of book but after reading it I put it in my Kindle Romance category rather than the Adult category. Pretty much Mills & Boons material.

I also found this one of those books where the language is a real problem. By setting the book in London with a Brit and an American as the main characters it is always hard for the author to either use the real English language or the bastardized American form of the language.

The book left me unsatisfied. Not enough plot, hints of a possible underlying story, ending without generating enough interest to read the rest of the book (oops I mean series).
