I first came to know Gisela's work through the first book that I had read from her - Naked Determination. That first book had me hooked from the beginning and I became a loyal follower of this self-help guru since that time. Each new book offering from this talented writer is fresh and alive with new ideas that are easy to understand and implement in one's life for greater success and happiness.
Naked Eye-Opener presents basic ideas, but Ms. Hausmann drives the points home with personal essays and examples from her own life. These personal vignettes allow the reader to see the person behind the writing and trust that she indeed knows what she speaks as well as practices what she preaches.
I can definitely see why several of her books have won awards and she has had published articles in SUCCESS Magazine. Looking forward to the next insightful edition in the "Naked" series.
Self help books could possibly be written by most of us. If there was something that helped us get through a difficult time, situation, etc. then we could write about it, but, it wouldn't work for everyone.
Ms Gisela gave us a short and to the point process to gain our dream goal...somewhat the same in my opinion. Whether we are able, or simply dedicated or strong enough to apply the handful of phrases to our life is another question. But it makes sense and why couldn't we see that for ourselves? Is it because we are wrapped up in obtaining our "dream" we can't see the simple solutions...the "Naked Eye-Opener" ?
This is like someone just threw a bucket of cold water in my face to wake me up to what has been in front of me all along.
Gisela points out how to be your own "cheerleader" and we all need them. As for my favorite saying which I coined..."You don't have to know how, you just need the desire to try" and with Gisela's assistance, we can all do this.
I found this book to be uplifting and encouraging. Sprinkled with stories from Ms Hausmann's experience, as well as those of other famous persons, the reader is provided with numerous examples that help explain a sometimes difficult subject.
Well done. 5 stars
There is a difference between having a dream and investing yourself in the dream. One must invest first before achieving it. It's an interesting approach and well worth the read.
Carefully select what you want to be invested in (I would say engaged in).
Work hard to make yourself a success at whatever it is you choose.
The book is filled with anecdotes and stories about people who follow this path, Martin Luther King, Edmund Hillary, Steve Jobs, etc. She also brings in some of her own stories, like the amazing travels she has done in Tibet, and her degrading experience with sexism in the workplace.
