The water drinker’s bottle.
Thanks to the smaller opening of the Narrow Mouth less water can rush out, making it easier to chug mindlessly. Everything else about the Narrow Mouth is like its Wide Mouth compatriot, so you get all the durability and no-leak peace of mind but without the stress of a mess. Just note that no ice cubes or lemon wedges are getting in here, so if you prefer more than water in your water bottle, check out our Wide Mouth bottles.
For those who prefer a roomy bottle with a smaller opening, we offer our narrow-mouth loop-top bottle. It offers all the same advantages as our wide-mouth, with a top that minimizes the chance of spills and a cap that never gets lost.
Not everyone likes the wide-mouth design of traditional Nalgene water bottles, which is one reason the company built the narrow-mouth Nalgene Tritan. Made of super-tough Eastman Tritan polycarbonate, the Tritan offers the same roomy interior as most Nalgenes, but with a narrow loop top that minimizes the chance of spills and a cap that never gets lost. In addition, the bottle's BPA-free construction is impact-, odor-, and stain-resistant, helping it withstand a wide range of temperatures (from -40 to 212 degrees F) and last for years. Finally, the bottle includes printed graduations on the side, making it easy measure water quantities. Recommended for extreme adventures, the Tritan bottle is available in a variety of vivacious colors.
About Nalgene Outdoor
Based in Rochester, N.Y., Nalgene was founded in 1949 as a manufacturer of the first plastic pipette holder. The company soon expanded its product line to include state-of-the-art polyethylene labware under the Nalgene brand. By the 1970s, outdoor enthusiasts had discovered the taste and odor-resistant, leakproof, and rugged properties of Nalgene's large selection of plastic containers. In response to this emerging demand, Nalgene created a Consumer Products Division. In the ensuing years, Nalgene created a full line of bottles that were perfect for storing everything from water to powdered drinks to pancake mix to shampoo.

This water bottle will never break, drop it on concrete or in rocks. I am an archaeologist, so it gets beat up in the field by shovels, rocks, being stuck in buckets with tools, etc. No cracks or damage ever.
I will say that I don't like the wide mouth ones because they are too hard to me to drink from, but I really love the narrow mouth version. If you buy a baby bottle scrubber, that's all you need to wipe it clean on the inside. If you're just putting water in it, you don't even need to do that much, just rinse. Like I said, I dig holes for a living, and I never have an issue getting dirt out of my Nalgene's. I've also never had an issue with getting dirt IN my Nalgene. It can be in a bucket of dirt, and as long as the top is on, nothing gets inside. It has also never, ever, leaked, which is really important as I can't risk getting artifacts or my field notes wet. The same cannot be said for my Camel Back or other types of bottles.
You can fit ice cubes in the hole, and it holds a ton of water without being heavy on its own. Nice for hiking as you can loop it onto anything. Also nice for making you drink a lot of water throughout the day using the measuring tools on it.
Stylistically, it clean and sleek. If you're like me, you like to put a lot of stickers on it for personalization. It's a silly thing to review, but this is the best bottle for putting stickers on. Usually they get a crease due to the round shape of the bottle, but this one is just perfectly wide enough that even round stickers go on absolutely perfectly. As you can see in the photo, I only have two on it right now, but I am putting more on later. It's a great conversation starter!
