Pac-Man Fever, it's driving me crazy

Once upon a time, a little yellow circle with a mouth and a voracious appetite for dots came along and changed the world. As Pac-Man Fever swept the nation, people lined up with pockets full of quarters at all of the arcades springing up all over the place; the names Blinky, Pinky, Inky, and Clyde became the most famous ghosts in the world; people started buying Atari 2600s left and right to guide this little fellow around his never-changing maze; and the kids of my generation became instant video game addicts. The revolution even had a theme song, with Buckner & Garcia's song Pac-Man Fever hitting #9 on the Billboard charts (actually, the whole video game-themed album was great). Sure, Pac-Man wasn't the first video game, and, yes, Ms. Pac-Man was basically the same thing only better, but Pac-Man will always be the ultimate video game icon.

I don't know how many years it has been since I played Pac-Man, but it's great to reexperience the game again now, thirty years after its debut (although I have to admit I'm still as lousy at it as I was a pre-teen). The background is a little prettier if you choose to play under the Enhanced Mode, and my computer arrow keys don't have the same appeal as the original console joystick, but the gameplay of this PC version is virtually identical with the original. The stats are a nice and non-intrusive addition - no longer does the true video game nerd have to estimate the number of dots consumed in a typical game.

Kids today may look at this game and pity those of us who grew up with such a simple and visually unimpressive video game, but I hope they realize that Pac-Man paved the way for all of the high-tech, visually stunning games of today. I also hope they'll try it for themselves because they just might like it. Wish the little guy a happy 30th birthday by downloading your own copy of this title.

End User License Agreement not showing up when installing this game making it useless

I've played this game from 2010 to 2024 when it cost 6.99 and it has worked flawlessly on two of my computers. My grandkids loved playing this game and still do when visiting. Now my great grand children love this game also. Recently I had to install a new hard drive and tried to install this Pacman game and it is not showing the end user license agreement when installing the downloaded game which makes the game not to load at all. It works on my windows 11 computer. It's not working since the newest download from Amazon on a windows 10 computer which worked flawlessly before. And over the years I've downloaded this game countless times from Amazon with no issues at all until recently the owner or someone did something to the end user license agreement box not showing, making this new download useless. Maybe if the owner of this game fixed this issue I will give it a higher rating. Well all good things eventually comes to an end. Luckily I still have a working Pacman on another computer.

Of course Pac-Man is fun. Everyone already knows that. My only problem is that I have to control Pac-man with my arrow keys. When my children play, they get so in to it, I'm afraid they are going to break the keys. It is much harder to play using the arrow keys than with a joy stick. Because of this we do not play the game as much as others.

Works great on my new computer, not my daughters

This was for my little daughter (who loves it by the way!) but we can only play it on my new 8-core, windows 7 x64 computer. It does not work on my daughter's 4-core, windows 7 x32 computer so whenever she wants to play it she has to use my computer. I received excellent assistance downloading the program to my daughter's computer and it worked there initially but does not work now. It is just like the original Pac-Man game plus more options for game levels (easy and hard) and options for the display as well. The game sounds are exactly like the original game! A super little program! I just wish it worked on my daughter's computer as well as it works on mine!

Who doesn't like Pac Man (Well, besides the ghost monsters that is?) It is an oldie but it's still a goody, and this version is very nice and complete with all the familar authentic sounds, graphics, music, and animated segments exactly as you remember them from the arcade. And the Enhanced version of the game is really cool too. It keeps a tally of all the ghost monsters that you kill, how long you've been playing, a total of the distance you've travelled, and even allows you to continue the game from where you've left off after losing your last guy. The only complaint that I can give it is that it takes a little getting used to controlling Pac Man's movements using the up,down,left,right buttons on your keyboard. I have played it enough to be able to control it pretty well using those buttons, but sometimes I still screw up now and then, a joystick would make the game so much better and I definitely need to install one on my PC, but until then the game is still a lot of fun. For a $2.99 download cost it's a great deal.

This game was very poplular when I was in my young teenager. That time we had to pay 1 dollars for 1 game. I found this game sold in Amazon. I downloaded from this site. Maybe because I am grown, I ended up being tired of this game. Or I am somewhat an addict to Checker game. If you have a lot of time, and don't mind feeling as if you are being chased all the time, you will enjoy this game. I'm glad to play this game. Now I experienced playing this game knowing how it makes me feel, rather than frustration that I didn't play enough when I was very young.

Pac-Man Works on Windows 10

Several reviewers note that this version of Pac-Man doesn't work on Windows 10. This is not correct. It does work on Windows 10. However, before running it the first time, you need to Right Click on the Pac-Man executable (.exe) file and then select Properties. On the properties dialog, select Compatibility and run the program in compatibility mode for Windows XP (any version). You only need to make this change once.
These instructions also work for the downloadable version of Dig-Dug (which sometimes works anyway).

Having to use the 4 arrows on my keyboard to operate this to me did not work very well. I then purchased a Microsoft game controller ($40.00) that also was not the answer. Because I love Pac-Man so much if a joystick would help I'd buy one.So far and I've tried, not found one that said it will work.

Ahhh the memories of playing this game all coming back now..
If you love Pac-Man then d/l it, just make sure ya have a good joystick like the arcade, it makes it easier.
I just wish my Mother-In-Law was still around, she really loved playing this game.

Edited due to if ya have to reinstall it, THEY MAKE YA BUY IT AGAIN!
I am not gonna keep buying this when my pute has a prob, I can get a good emulator off the net for free.
So from 5 stars to 2
