What others say of her writing:
TOPAZ EYES "This is a stunning read, which absorbed my attention from the beginning."Jane Bwye (Finalist, People's Book Prize 2014)
CELTIC FERVOUR SERIES...
#1 THE BELTANE CHOICE " is one of the most convincing evocations of Celtic Britain that I have ever come across, and the central romance stands out against that background with great passion and immediacy." Simon Stirling, The Review Group.
#2 AFTER WHORL: BRAN REBORN "As in The Beltane Choice, the author brings the culture and society of Celtic Britain vividly to life - and in this book there is also an intriguing contrast with the ordered, militaristic lifestyle of the occupying Romans. An engaging tale, with fascinating insights into Celtic/Roman Britain." Tim Taylor
#3 AFTER WHORL: DONNING DOUBLE CLOAKS "...this is a powerful tale of ordinary people responding to extraordinary circumstances." Dr. Mark Patton
The Taexali Game "...The Taexali Game takes the idea of Time Travel and sets it in a computer game thereby making the concept wholly believable. I thoroughly bought into the idea." (2nd place Barbara Hammond Award for Best self-published Book, Scottish Association of Writers 2017)

Blog postWednesday Wonders,
Today wasn't a normal Wednesday - well, in truth for me there are probably no predictable Wednesdays. Instead of tapping away at my keyboard, or continuing with my Beta Reading tasks, I spent some time being interviewed on Mearns Radio, a local internet radio station that broadcasts to a huge chunk of southern Aberdeenshire.
Technical hitches apart - when I lost telephone contact with the radio presenter, the Dundee Crime writer Wendy Jones - it1 week ago Read more -

Blog postGood Morning Monday!
I've been asked a couple of times why I chose to self- publish with Ocelot Press - a co-operative of authors - rather than just branch out as a totally self-published author on my own, after I received all my publishing rights back from my previous publisher Crooked Cat Books in 2018.
This blog post of today on the Ocelot Press Website is exactly why I'm delighted to be part of a group with such supportive and talented authors. When the opportunity ar1 week ago Read more -
Blog postSaturday Smiles!
It's a very good day for me today, 9th Feb 2019, since a NE Scotland newspaper- the Aberdeen Press and Journal - has begun a 3 part feature about my writing in it's Weekender Magazine. While I can't say what the reporter wrote is 100% entirely accurate, according to what was discussed in the telephone interview, I'm delighted with what Phillipa Gerrard has written since it's about 99%!

Blog postWednesday Woes...or is it?
On checking my calendar, I see it's been days again since I posted here. Life is full of excuses for some and I'm no different. It only takes some tiny (and not so tiny) domestic routine change to throw me off schedule.
As well as writing novels, and reading novels, one of my favourite activities - and it's not actually leisure time - is house redecoration. I actually do enjoy wielding a paintbrush and applying the paint to walls and doors etc. S2 weeks ago Read more -

Blog postIt's review time again of books I've recently read!
I don't often read paperback novels these days since I prefer to use my tablet for reading novels in bed. However, I've just finished a paperback non-fiction book and a paperback novel.
The non-fiction book was a very short read which I'll no doubt use again as a handy reference. It's called Domitian by Suetonius -a translation of Suetonius' work by Rise of Douai. I bought this one since I'm waiting for a copy of another non-f2 weeks ago Read more -
Blog postFriday News!
I'm absolutely delighted that my friend Jen Wilson has popped in today to share news of her latest addition to her Kindred Spirits Series. To date, I've enjoyed the previous books in the series which have a totally refreshing way to highlight historical figures. The entertaining novels come with a huge twist - in that we are introduced to them via the paranormal historical genre of writing. They are the ghosts the accompany you along the routes in the famous settings cho2 weeks ago Read more -

Blog postMondays can be a great start to the week!
The first 5 * review- in all honesty the first actual Amazon UK review- is in for Agricola's Bane.
It's taken a lot of weeks for it to appear on amazon and I'm totally delighted and hope that it means a start to the rolling of the ball....
There's a lot more to the review but the clip above is a great part to use immediately. You can read the whole review here:

Blog postMy reviews catch up!
I've had similar blog post titles before and mean never to need to batch up reviews again, but sometimes life gets in the way of my recording of short review comments on books I've recently read.
This little list goes back to books I read in October, November and December of 2018, with the most recently completed today! Posting short comments with no spoilers is my aim and, in truth, all I've got time for these days. I try to write about what1 month ago Read more -
Blog postGood Morning Thursday!
I've had such an intense focus lately on getting my contemporary mysteries back into availability in both ebook and paperback formats that I've almost forgotten to promote my latest novel Agricola's Bane, Book 4 of my Celtic Fervour Series.
I'm now delighted to be able to concentrate more on my historical work since the above 3 contemporary mysteries can now all be purchased from Amazon again in @OcelotPress paperbacks as of today, 17th January 2019.1 month ago Read more -

Blog postHappy late Sunday to you!
I'm now really, really hopeful that my blog hibernation is at an end and that my head is properly risen from the frozen editing and formatting state.
I've caught up with a massive list of emails, and written 2 blog posts for guest blogging to appear int he coming weeks. My task this evening is to choose x 2 extracts to be included in a Scottish national newspaper (NE) feature, the extracts to follow on consecutive Saturdays after the main author interv1 month ago Read more -

Blog postGood morning!
Angela WrenThis is a Sunday with a difference since I've a just had a very lovely letter pop into my box. The character who wrote it probably got my address from my good friend, Angela Wren, who was a fellow Crooked Cat Books author when I was a Crooked Cat. She still is, by the way!
Living in France, Angela knows a fair number of people from the local area. I've had the very great pleasure of being introduced to some of her local 'neighbours',3 months ago Read more -
Blog postHappy Saturday!
Today, I've spent the best part of it at a FOCUS Christmas Craft Fair in the town of Stonehaven, Aberdeenshire, where I've been selling my novels and enlightening customers about the fact that almost 2000 years ago there were around 20 to 25 thousand Ancient Roman soldiers tramping around near the town of Stonehaven.

Blog postLaunch Day - Cheers!
The day really has arrived (15th Nov 2018) and Agricola's Bane officially hits the ebook shelves on Amazon!
I've waited so long for this to happen that it really doesn't seem all that real. Getting all the ducks in a row to get the manuscript eventually finished, then professionally edited, and then the time I took to get the formatting correct for self publishing seems to have been endless. That said both the ebook and the paperback are3 months ago Read more -
Blog postBook Week Scotland runs from the 19th to the 25th November 2018.
It has been running every year for number of years and and is a celebration of books and reading. the organisers encourage people to participate in a multitude of different kinds of events so long as they are in some way book related.
Since becoming a published author in 2012, I've tried to do a 'book event'' every year during Book Week Scotland. Some have been in front of the public but others3 months ago Read more -

Domestic duties have taken up a lot of my time today- baking a raisin and apricot loaf & shortbread; looking after my grandkids from 7 am till 5. 30 pm; out and about to a local playbarn for them to burn off some of their boundless energy - but I have also added a little to my promotional spree for the launch of Agricola's Bane.
