Gil Montgomery is trying to establish a relationship with his eight year old daughter who's mother recently died. They had divorced yeas ago, and his wife had full custody - a choice that Gil soon regretted. But Gil has finally gotten his precious daughter back and is trying to bond with her. But she doesn't believe her father loves her or wants her.
Enter nanny, Julie Bishop. Julie is only nanny for a week, and the only reason she's there is to make sure the daughter she gave up for adoption is happy and safe. Julie was not supposed to know who or where she was, but a friend gave her information she shouldn't have. Julie falls in love with Abby the first time she lays eyes on the sad little girl. And before she leaves for her new job in Africa, she's determined to make sure the father and daughter are happy.
This book was GREAT! I loved reading about these three lost hearts trying to find their way to each other. The feelings they all developed to each other came slowly and in a healthy manner. This book will leave you feeling good at the end!
The sister-in-law was a piece of work. I seriously don't think she would ever make a healthy relationship for Abby. I think she was a bit psycho and, though I agreed with Gil's decision, I think it would be a very delicate situation that needed to be walked closely - even years later!
Gil Montgomery is lost. His world has fallen apart after the recent losses of his beloved father and his ex-wife. His daughter, who had been raised by his ex since the divorce, comes to live with him and they attempt to move on with their lives. A huge hurdle they had to get over was the fact that Abby was poisoned with many lies from her bi-polar mom and aunt while she lived with them. Due to a family emergency, Gil searches for a short term nanny to care for Abby.
Julie gave her heart to the baby girl she gave up for adoption years ago and simply wanted peace of mind that she was in a loving home. When she finds out that the Montgomery's need a nanny, she signs up for that reason alone. Soon enough she gets so involved in the family that she doesn't want to move on. Spending time with Gil and her birth daughter make her feel whole and happier than she has in a very long time.
I totally recommend this book to anyone who loves clean love stories that have a Christian undercurrent to them. LOVE this book!
