"These characters feel like old friends. I can't wait for each book to see what Lisa and the gang are up to." ~many Amazon reviewers.
Lisa Hodges needs to make a decision fast. Thanks to her dead husband's gambling addiction, her savings is almost gone. In her early fifties with a large, waterfront home on Nantucket to support, Lisa hasn't worked in over thirty years, has no in-demand skills and is virtually unemployable.
Her only options are to sell the house and move off-island, or use her cooking and entertaining skills and turn her home into an inn.
She needs it to succeed because she has four grown children with problems of their own and wants to stay close to them.
Her oldest daughter, Kate, has a fabulous career in Boston--working as a writer for a popular fashion magazine. She's engaged to a dangerously handsome photographer, who none of them have met.
Kate's twin, local artist, Kristen, is growing frustrated with her relationship with an older, separated real estate developer that seems to be going nowhere.
Her son, Chase, runs his own construction business and is carefree, happily dating here and there but nothing serious.
Youngest daughter, Abby, is happily married to her high school sweetheart, and they've been trying to have a baby. But it hasn't happened yet, and Abby wonders if it's a sign that maybe their marriage isn't as perfect as everyone thinks.
And then there's Rhett, her first guest at the inn, who is there to open a new restaurant nearby. He is a little older than Lisa and though romance is the last thing on her mind, Rhett quickly becomes a friend.
Come visit Nantucket and see how Lisa's new bed and breakfast has an impact on almost everyone in her family.

Although the plot isn't particularly exciting, its relatability keeps you interested. The book is clean; there are no explicit sex scenes, and there are few vulgarities. However, there are several grammar mistakes, and the incorrect terms were used rather frequently, which is somewhat irritating.
The book is acceptable but with some updates and modifications, it might be lot better.
I have only read to page 9, but I can’t get over what seems to be a writing error. Page 9 is read “ It was well respected and Lisa had felt very lucky to land a position there right out of college.” I’m thinking it was meant read Kate and not Lisa.
Because it has such good reviews, I will keep reading.
